Day 1 Of
@DRUIDsociety
is over, and (wo)man, what a day! We kicked off with
@MITSloan
’s
@sstern_mit
giving an extremely fascinating keynote lecture covering the advances in quantitative EEship research. TBH, it was so inspiring I noted about 3 different RQs while he was speaking.
Next, I had the privilege to serve as a discussant in a session of 3 working papers, dealing with scientific networks and identity alongside
@maryann_feldman
. The papers were very interesting and were dealing with questions at the heart of our profession, like how to manage
one’s professional network, in order to produce impactful research. Furthermore, questions about academic’s identity and their motives to engage with the society and economic life were dealt with. Next we had a session dealing with gender inequality in science, where my talented
And brilliant colleague
@CairoSofie
presented her important work on child penalty for STEM academics (with
@vale_tartari
and
@DalumSofie
) we finished the day with drinks and a brain overloaded with ideas and thoughts. See y’all tomorrow!
