It has to do with authority. People want an authority to stand on. Rome stands on its hierarchy; EO stands on a subjectively chosen canon of selected Church Fathers- but Protestants stand on an innerant Bible. Except lately we haven't. And when we don't, our religion is rootless

It is "God-breathed-out" indeed- inspired of the Holy Spirit and inerrant, infallible, perspicuous, and plenary-inspired. The voice of God can be heard in the canon of Scripture in a way not conveyed through any other book or source.

By definition, a "Christian nation" would be a Christianized nation- a land where the biblical Law was the legal and ethical standard. While this wouldn't save souls (except in how the Law does point to the need for grace, and so does participate in the process) it promotes good

If you think baptism is some declaration of yours to God, you'll never escape this mentality. But once you realize baptism is a Covenantal mark given from God to you (to be layed hold of by faith, like all other words from God) it becomes less of a problem.

I'm a Reformed minister, and I have a congregation where 7-9 children is the norm. There's not a lot of terror. There is a lot of discipleship and catechising however, because God normally uses means to achieve His ends.....🤔

I'm MUCH more concerned about the concept of "moving beyond the Bible to theology": God has made Himself known- and defined His Covenant of promise in Jesus Christ- specifically in a book; if you move beyond this book, there is no "knowing of God" to do in any meaningful way.
