@sidprabhu Many founders shift equity to a holding company or nonprofit or etc other legal structure. That allows for both to be true. They technically donāt have equity and technically they do.

I didnāt start 7Alder with a grand plan. I started because Iām not built for corporate life. Too slow, too political, too many meetings about nothing. Even though I didnāt have a plan, I soon wanted to make a business that was the antithesis of the 9-5. Meaning: be fast, be.

Biggest takeaway so far: a lot of people think they have exception excel skills, in reality, very few people have exceptional excel skills.
- Posted a senior analyst job application on linkedin.- Received ~300 applicants in 4 days.- Manually cut down to ~100 applicants by reviewing previous/current roles, schools, companies etc.- Sent all 100 a basic survey that would take >5 mins.- Within 24 hours there was ~50.

A few notes from my first conference:. - itās way easier selling/closing/doing deals/networking/etc in person vs online.- there is instant trust when you smile and shake someoneās hand.- being a watch nerd is a serious tactical advantage.- a little bit of swagger goes a long way.

Just paid in taxes what most people my age make in a year. It was disturbing to see it withdrawn from my account even though I knew it was coming lol. But in another way, it kinda feels good. Weāre winning enough that taxes are annoying and a real focus.
