BOOTSTRAPPING A SMALL BUSINESS 🧵 Earlier this year, my business partner and I hired a controller and launched a bookkeeping company. Our vision was to build the world's friendliest accounting firm. From clients to revenue to burn, here's the inside view on how it's going 👇

I did a thing Friday. Finally had my promotion ceremony. As I read my speech to the crowd, I thanked everyone that taught me how to fix airplanes, how to be a good Airmen, and those who showed me how to lead. But this little girl is the reason for the man I am now. She

If you’re an entrepreneur, you really should be following @DanReese21. One of the best “build in public” guys on this app. Smart case studies from his own business, with insights that apply to any industry. (And the milkshakes are incredible!)
Under the radar strategy for local/regional businesses: Selling gift cards to Costco We have 10 Corp stores in Pittsburgh and sold 6 figures of gift cards to the 3 local Clubs last year. You don’t need to be a big national brand to do this. It requires 2 things: 1) Have a

For years people have been theorizing what machine super intelligence would bring us. We’re right on the cusp of having the most powerful tools we could ever imagine, and you create Oreo fucking toothpaste.

I love how The New York Times headlines this like there’s some equal right an illegal has to someone else’s social security number. “Two men, one identity” No, it’s one man, one identity. The other guy is just a thief.
One man "paid the price" by having his identity stolen, costing him tens of thousands of dollars and making his life hell. The other "paid the price" by being arrested and charged for the crime he knowingly committed. One of the craziest framings of a story I've ever seen.

What a breath of fresh air. A historian without the postmodern self-hate. Simply talking about the world as it was. Unfiltered. Direct. How many college professions can speak about the recent past with such clarity? An actual curio of what has been lost in the academy.
Jack Beatty interviewed in 1989 – just before the Berlin Wall fell, before the Halcyon Days of “the nineties” and the End of History, but before 9/11, before the 2008 Recession, too. Japan and Germany were overcome (and how), but not Asia, not the sense Liberalism had failed:

One man is an American who lost tens of thousands of dollars after his identity got stolen. The other man—who stole the first man’s identity—is an illegal immigrant with multiple arrests, several DUIs, and three deportations. The New York Times thinks they’re both victims.
