@Johnny2Cellos Canon exists to define the parameters the story exists in. It sets the precedent for what can and cannot happen, so the audience has some idea of what they reasonably can expect. If you break canon, even in small ways, it lessens the enjoyability of the film or story. This is.

@kala2k7 I wanted this show to be good. I feel I may be in the minority, but Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider were all enjoyable games for me. Shadow was the weakest, both in terms of gameplay and writing, but it was still a solid outing. Even.

I'm a pretty political person. Its probably pretty easy to tell what my political leanings are if you look hard enough, and I definitely am planted on one side. However, when I was a kid, books provided me with peace and an escape I couldn't get anywhere else. I write to tell.

Just watched a 90's classic, The Pagemaster, with the kids. It has one of my all time favorite depictions of God in it. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.

@rywilwrite Futuristic/Fantasy idioms don't have to be completely understood by the audience. They just have to be able extrapolate the basic meaning. You can also introduce them later in the story, after elements involved in the idiom have been introduced, so the reader understands.

@AG_Gobstopper Nah, I get the criticisms and agree with a lot of them. I'm a fan of his type of trope, which is why I'm more forgiving. Its also somewhat clear that he's a last minute addition to the cast, as is most of Golden Deer. The conflict was initially meant to be Edelgard/Dmitri, and he.

When I was younger, my friends and I would all have Lan parties where we would play Real Time Strategy games. When we would play island maps in Age of Mythology, I would colonize the random islands and fill them entirely with Norse farms. This image reminds me of those times.

Big thanks to everyone who has read/is reading Everfont. It is currently number 12 on the Kindle Reading list for Children's Fantasy. I don't know why it is categorized that way (its more YA) but I'll take it either way. Edit: I should note this screenshot was taken yesterday.

@AG_Gobstopper I'm more of a misfit, so I suppose that's why I like Golden Deer. I actually like Sylvain more than anyone else in Blue Lions, though I do like Felix and Dmitri. I don't like anyone in Black Eagles. Marianne, Hilda, Lysithea, and Claude are my favorites in the game. Cyril, even.

@DavidJohnButler I think its easy to forget that archaeology as we know it is a relatively young field of study, and that quite a bit of the world is unexplored. Most archaeologists of today are hampered by academia and regulation, however. It feels like we don't truly have any pioneer explorers.
