Any publisher who does this is one that I, personally, would not want to work with.
This is a time for publishers to show authors they have their backs. Show some backbone and stand up for something.
I got a press release today about a new book coming out from Hachette by an AI poet—as in the whole book is written by an AI. Wonderful time to announce when actors/writers are striking partly because producers think they can replace creatives with AI.
