I stand against the recent, hatred acts targeting my LGBTQ+ students, staff, and faculty colleagues at
@Harvard
. Attacks against them are attacks against us all. Such attacks do not intimidate us but only bring us closer together and our need to push for further reform.
8) An alternative scenario is that the tail already was lost and this Alu and its exon-skipping function was permitted under relaxed selection? This remains unknown but is related to how this gene was chosen out of many potentially effective ones.
From noon to 2pm today come see terrific work by

Ridiculous: R01 goes from 36 percentile to 13 percentile (just on the cusp, payline was 12 percentile) to have it go back up to 30 percentile and after ADDRESSING ALL CONCERNS and using more refined approaches.
Please retweet widely: If you're interested in human skeletal development, evolution, disease, I plan to accept graduate students into my lab at

Sign-up for the 2022 GRC & GRS for Musculoskeletal Biology and Bioengineering! 8/7-8/12/2022:
Students & Post-docs should sign up for the GRS, 8/6-7.
It will be terrific and is led by the wonderful
@TamaraAlliston

@defratelab
Things are moving fast - setting up by this weekend to essentially close the lab for 6-8 weeks. Definitely the right thing to do - thankfully students have most of their large -seq datasets to process and experiments completed! Good luck to all those doing the same!
Senator Chris Murphy says it best: "Why do you spend all of this time running for the US senate....of putting yourself in a position of authority...if your answer...as our kids run for their lives, we do nothing."
Harvard's Department of Human Evolutionary Biology (HEB) is looking for someone who applies evolutionary theory to understand human biology (open level). Expertise may include physiology, anatomy, paleoanthropology, life history, neurobiology and other areas.
@HarvardHEB
I want to wish Pushpanathan (

Great Post-doc opportunity in my collaborator April Craft's lab at Boston Children's Hospital. Postdoctoral positions in pediatric cartilage disease modeling and gene regulatory networks governing human skeletal lineage commitment using iPSCs.
Today members of Harvard University received a hate-filled, racist email threatening African Americans from Equity Prime Mortgage, which had its email hacked. I stand with my African-American colleagues in their constant support and to say that this will not be tolerated! BLM!
I am glad that Biden recognized the Armenian massacre as genocide. Now, he needs to recognize that the Native American massacre in the US was also genocide. The policies used by our fledgling country were deliberate and had an end goal to justify expansion.

When you write as well as Tolkien, well then maybe, just maybe, you'll deserve a shelf. Until then, dwell on the fact that Tolkien paved the road for this genre, and likely inspired many to take the chance to read your drivel.
Excited for my student
@evelynjagoda
to be attending
#humanevol19
and presenting her excellent work on the use of a high throughput functional screen to interrogate Neandertal introgressed variants!!!! Thanks

I could not be more delighted that my mentor Dr. Henry Kronenberg will receive

Fred Conrad Koch Award.
Dr. Kronenberg's contributions to bone endocrinology are legendary. More importantly, his mentorship has launched the careers of countless endocrinologists.
What should be terrifying is that in one action SCOTUS obliterated specific rights of 50.52% of the US population. TODAY, women have less rights in the eyes of the US than they did Thursday, making them once again feel like and actually be second class citizens. PREPOSTEROUS!!!

1/3 If an NIH reviewer gives a "2" or worse on a review category (e.g. Significance), they must provide a weakness! From one reviewer, I received 3s to 4s on 5 categories & in only one category did they list a weakness. Unacceptable!
