the "pace of play" makes it sound like the length of games is the problem.
The problem is that most at bats end in strikeouts, or a walk, or a home run. batters simply can't keep up with velocity jumps, and moving the mound back a foot disrupts that velocity.

The other unique part of the Blackhawks was the team wasn't available on Television. Many people genuinely didn't know about the team, so it's harder to blame "bandwagoners" when the previous owner made it SO HARD to be a fan.
