We are absolutely devastated to announce legendary Minnesota Vikings head coach and Hall of Famer Bud Grant has passed away this morning at age 95.
We, like all Vikings and NFL fans, are shocked and saddened by this terrible news.

The players know the NFL is a business and the salary cap forces teams to be creative with their bookkeeping. The cut/practice squad/resign loophole is there to protect the team from paying a guaranteed full season salary if that player is cut outright mid season.

Ben, do you know the reasoning behind the pre June 1 cut vs post June 1? Looks like the post cut would've saved $13.4M against the cap (vs $6.4M) with only $6.5M dead cap (vs $13.5M).
A post cut also gives the team better cap/dead numbers for 2024. Thanks. 🏈
