Eagles at Vikings Week 1988 - Vikings beat a good eagles team 23-21 and literally beat-up Randall Cunningham, sacking him 8 times. Tommy Kramer throws for 299 and Anthony Carter has a big day. Keith Millard and Reggie White BOTH have 4 sacks each!

Eagles at Vikings Week 1981- Tommy Kramer, Ted Brown and Joe Senser breakout against a very god Eagle team in a big upset and easy win that was not as close as the final score (35-23 MIN).

Eagles at Vikings Week 1978: Fran Tarkenton and Sammy White lead a big comeback vs the Eagles. But a final late drive and a 4th down conversion keeps a drive alive and Fran and Ahmad Rashad seal the win to save the playoffs the the Vikes. CBS video and game call.

Eagles at Vikings Week 1973 - It took 11 seasons, but PHIL finally returned to MIN and probably wished they hadn't. Vikes lead wire-to-wire in a tough game. MIN was led by WR John Gilliam in the 28-21 win.

On a bye Week, we present Viking highlights from their week 5 (SF) inaugural 1961 season....Shown on a 1959 Philco Predicta Pedestal (Barberpole) TV. This is what things 'might" have looked like when viewers saw the Vikings in 1961. Video & Audio is directly from the TV.

Anybody see this live on Will's kick? Seems his kick hit a camera wire and caused the ball to go wildly to the right.

Sam Darnold is just tearing it up in Seattle. Did we make a mistake?

Bonus Observation #2 in MIN win vs CLE: Hope.- It is not a strategy, but what we have here. Bye is badly needed. Need OL & LBs back. Need a more cohesive offensive unit and a defense that can learn to stop the run and tackle. It’s possible, but a lot of fixes needed.

Bonus Observation #1 in MIN win vs CLE: What do you have to worry about most the rest of the season? The failures and losses pile-up, and Justin Jefferson grows weary of losing and asks for a trade.

Observation #20 in MIN win vs CLE: The Vikings go 3-2 in the easiest part of their schedule. It gets brutal from here, and MIN will likely be the underdog in each game the rest of the way. Likely a 5-7 win team, but we will hope a healthy team gels and catches fire.

Observation #19 in MIN win vs CLE: This is NOT a good Viking team. They may win some, but too many holes and injuries to challenge DET, GB, WASH or PHIL. You want to see what you have in McCarthy, but can they even set him up for any success, even in losses?

Observation #18 in MIN win vs CLE: Jordan Mason does an amazing job bouncing outside to find holes when nothing is open inside. He does need to work on ball security, but our run game would be nowhere without him.

Observation #17 in MIN win vs CLE: While he caught some key passes today, TJ Hockenson’s speed is vastly diminished. His catches were either in uncovered zones or tightly contested. He and Thielen are in steep decline.

Observation #16 in MIN win vs CLE: The reason they Vikings could not get pass pressure? CLE Run game success, and quick throws by Gabriel. If the Vikings can’t ignore the run, their defense is vastly minimized.

Observation #15 in MIN win vs CLE: 3rd down defense. Several times in the game, CLE had 3rd and 8+. Minnesota would give up all but one yard, and that resulted in 4th down tries and conversions and 1st downs.

Observation #14 in MIN win vs CLE: Wentz is not likely the long-term guy, He is a good backup, but without him, you don’t win today. McCarthy may not be either, but we need this lost season to find out. Play McCarthy when ready...maybe even Brosmer.

Observation #13 in MIN win vs CLE: It seemed when Levi Drake Rodriguez was in, good things happened. He was the one guys getting penetration into the Brown backfield.

Observation #12 in MIN win vs CLE: Part of the problem in Minnesota is there is not clear team leader (player). Jefferson is outgoing and so is Mattelus, but no one is a leader on the field. A bunch of quiet guys.
