Fan favorite, DE Ray Yakovonis (#91), named the "Big Yak Attack" by fans in the 1982 Hall of Fame game. His nickname was the best thing about his NFL career.

The Hall of Fame game in 1997. Brad Johnson was the unquestioned starter. Warren Moon was now on the other sideline as a Seahawk, but it was Randall Cunningham (coming out of a 1 year retirement) who would shine by the end of the year & was the star QB by the 3rd game of 1998.

"Bullet" Bob Hayes, then known as the "fastest Man in the World" after his Olympic gold in the 100, runs a punt back vs the Vikings in preseason 1966.

"Purple Prahhhd, Purple Prahhhd, Purple Prahhhd". When he wasn't trying to locate the Vikings to San Antonio, then Owner Red McCombs would cheer on his employees. Here he is in August 1998 as the Vikes faced the Chiefs in preseason.

We knew & loved Joe Kapp. Reminder: in 1967, down a bunch to the Rams, Joe Kapp came to the Line of Scrimmage, looked at HOF DL Deacon Jones & yelled "F**k You" to try and fire his team up. MIN lost. 2 years later, Kapp beat Jones & the Rams to advance to the NFL Championship.

They always say when you leave an employer, do so with grace - don't burn your bridges. Has anyone attached to the NFL ever over-estimated his worth more than Ragnar, a bit of an embarrassment with his behavior on the field, trying to play hardball with the Vikings.

Ted Brown is one of the most underrated RBs in Viking history. 4500+ yards rushing and 2850 yards receiving. 53 career Viking TDs. Yet, he is never mentioned (I think) due to the mediocre record of the Viking teams he played on. He deserves his recognition.

QB Kyla Sloter in training camp 2019. The man who a few days ago said that the Vikings ruined his career by asking him to play worse to make Kirk Cousins look better. 8 NFL teams in 6 yrs. 3 UFL/USFL teams in 2 years. 31 and out of football. His grasp of his talent seems solid!

Say what you will about him, but starting in 2018 (here in his first Viking training camp) & finishing in 2023, Kirk Cousins is statistically the best passer in Viking history, but he lacked a DEF & secure offensive line, so most fans blamed him for things he could not control

If you played Nerf football as a kid, no matter what NFL team you follow, you can thank long-time Vikings kicker for inventing is when he was still playing for Minnesota in the 1970s.

In 1980, I was a Mattel handheld football guy. Did you play the Mattel version and Coleco's? I never tried the latter, but had friends who swore by it.

Electric Football -A huge ask for many kids on their Christmas list. The took forever to set up between plays, there was no strategy, and the movement was luck of the draw. The stunk. I'd sell mine, and immediately want another. Just cool before video games. Did you have one?

More Vintage football themed commercials. Did you have this? I still have two of them and they are more fun than you can imagine. Still can get them on eBay and I recommend them. They break, enjoy it until they do-still worth it. SUPERJOCK!

1994 brought another veteran QB, but this time, it was Hall of Fame Warren Moon. Imagine Moon if he were Minnesota QB in 1998. I still think he had the best pass of any MIN QB in the Viking Franchise history, just got to the team too late in his career.

The "new sheriff" arrived to coach the Vikings in training camp 1992. We still think Denny did a lot with limitations of talent with his Vikings teams from 1992 -1997. His demise came when he became GM and started alienating players. Good coach.
