The Senate passed the Sunshine Protection Act which would make daylight saving time permanent across the U.S. beginning in 2023.

For those wishing for an end to annual clock shifting, this push in Congress is perhaps better late than never. It would still require House approval and President Biden's signature to become law.

Selenium metabolism protects them against ferroptotic insults, but a toxic intermediate formed in this process can be exploited to poison them. Congratulations co-first authors @A_Carlisle_19 , Namgyu Lee and Kim lab. @NatMetabolism Read here: https://t.co/cLEpuhCqXQ (2/2)

As expected, data emerges to explain observations of #COVID19 “reinfection”—here, most patients who were ”redetected positive” were actually never truly negative. Plus reinfection cannot be rampant if family members living together successively infect each other but all recover.

Good news. Rhesus macaques seem to be immune to re-challenge with SARS-CoV-2. This suggests that we are also immune once we clear the infection (serology in humans points in same direction). Not sure how long immunity lasts but likely for months or years.
