What is consigning them to the scrap heap is a lower level qualification. Are we really saying that white working-class children are less capable of achieving the same qualifications as their peers, or that the answer is to lower expectations? It’s an insult.
The Tories' policy of an endless cycle of resits consigned young people to the scrapheap. White working class pupils are twice as likely to need to resit. Labour is putting better support in place to give them the vital English & maths skills they need. https://t.co/T5FHF0w9zi

This Thursday I will be bringing a debate to the floor of the House on Property Service Charges. Residents living on Park 25 in Redhill are paying huge charges that devalue their homes and prevent them selling. Lives are being ruined. #propertyservicecharges #firstport

Devastating. 2,000 more jobs at risk in the North Sea. As long as Ed Miliband keeps his mad ban on new oil and gas licences in place, news like this is only going to become a lot more common. As long as we need oil and gas, as much of it as possible should come from Britain.

Britain’s high streets are suffering. Labour’s Jobs Tax and Business Rate hikes are forcing businesses to close. Only @Conservatives have a plan to deliver Stronger High Streets, and it starts by scrapping Business Rates entirely for thousands of small local businesses.

Not the first mistake this month either. A prisoner was let out of HMP Downview to get tomatoes for the canteen! https://t.co/XgrRJWgkOA

EXCLUSIVE: The farcical yet deeply concerning incident unfolded on earlier this month at HMP Downview, a closed women's prison on the outskirts of Banstead in Surrey.
I am appalled at the release in error at HMP Chelmsford. We are urgently working with the police to track him down and I’ve ordered an urgent investigation. Kebatu must be deported for his crimes, not on our streets.

Since the start I have feared the Government spiked the prosecution through ineptitude. It is worse. We now know from the CPS that the Executive fatally undermined the case. This is a constitutional crisis. Starmer said it was about Conservative ‘policy position' in 2021 and

My article on why the puberty blocker clinical trial must be stopped. “These are healthy children, not terminally ill patients for whom the risk-benefit calculus might justify experimental treatments.” https://t.co/WH6TOPQv9T

The UK has witnessed a sharp and troubling rise in the number of children and adolescents presenting with gender-related distress in recent years.

Every house move means new furniture, new paint, new jobs. Abolishing Stamp Duty means £1.2 billion flowing into local businesses. Conservatives have a plan to build opportunity. Labour has a plan to tax it.

The Pathways puberty blocker clinical trial must be stopped. It risks chemically neutering a generation of same-sex attracted, neurodiverse and traumatised young people. @wesstreeting please stop it before it’s too late.

We had a brilliant event last week. Launching a new blueprint for councils to improve street access - tackling pavement parking, street works and waste collection. Thank you to @Rebecca_SPaul for hosting us, our funders @NCAT_UK, all of our panellists and to all who joined us.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Parliament on Tuesday evening for the launch of our new report, a Street Transformation: Execution Plan (STEP), funded by the @NCAT_UK. We were delighted to welcome such a full room and to hear meaningful discussion on how we can make our

We’ve had two weeks of statements and urgent questions about the collapsed China spy trial. Two weeks of evasion and dishonesty. Today the minister claimed she doesn’t speak for other members of the government. This is a cover-up - but we will expose the truth.

Glad to see the Tony Blair Institute now saying what I’ve been saying for months. - Energy is prosperity and nothing is more important to growth than cutting energy costs. - Axe the Carbon Tax to cut bills instantly. - Ed’s renewables auction will lock us into higher

I understand the govt taking time to get this right, but they shouldn’t have scared parents earlier this year & then left them in limbo. We all know Bridget Phillipson has spent the last few weeks distracted by a deputy leadership contest rather than focussing on the day job.
Breaking: The government has delayed the publication of its schools White Paper, which would detail its SEND reform plans, until early 2026. More to follow.

A bill drafted hastily, including criminal offences... Falconer confirms that if a stressed doctor or nurse enters a room, subconsciously bringing pressure that relatives claim caused the patient to take lethal drugs, the doctor or nurse risks prosecution and life imprisonment.

Nearly 7 in 10 people back our plan to scrap Stamp Duty. It’s common sense. It helps families move, boosts growth, and makes Britain fairer. If Labour had any sense, they’d implement it.
63% of people support our plan to abolish Stamp Duty and build a stronger economy. The Conservatives are on the side of Britain.
