This is a tax on oversubscribed schools. Piling more pressure on schools, who are facing huge shortfalls, after Labour broke their promise to compensate them for their Jobs Tax.

This is appalling. A girl should not be turned away from her own school just for celebrating her own country and culture. This is not just a matter for an apology but requires a full investigation from the trust involved.

The Edu Sec called vital RHSE guidance 'partisan.' It’s not partisan to protect children from age-inappropriate content or safeguard women & girls. It appears Labour have weakened age limits & schools are still waiting for guidance on gender questioning children. Not good enough.

Well done, Portugal. Labour are sitting on their hands while more countries act to get phones out of classrooms.Fewer distractions, more real conversations, less bullying & a drop in poor behaviour prove why phones have no place in schools. We must act now

Labour’s record on education is a litany of broken promises. Schools promised compensation for their jobs tax face huge shortfalls. Nurseries got nothing & are on the brink. A key pledge of 6,500 more teachers has delivered 400 fewer. Children, teachers, & parents deserve better.

Mainstream school isn’t right for every child. With behaviour issues rising, moving children to a different setting can be the right call. Actions must have consequences. But we need more APs. The amazing New Rush Hall School shows what’s possible when we get it right.

The UK is lagging behind when it comes to protecting our children from screens & social media. President Macron was absolutely right to raise the harms social media is causing young people. Other countries are acting. We can and must do more.

The evidence of the damage smartphones do to children’s wellbeing & attainment is overwhelming. Great to see another school taking action, but teachers & parents need our backing. Labour's got this wrong. We must get phones out of schools. It’s a no-brainer.

It was a real privilege to visit New Rush Hall School today. The work Sam Walters & his amazing staff are doing to support vulnerable children is remarkable. Mainstream isn’t right for every child, we need more of these provisions across the country for them & their classmates.

We can & must get phones out of classrooms & children off social media. Thank you to Lord Nash & @josephpowell for hosting a powerful screening of Another Way, produced by Fabio D’Andrea & starring Peter Andre. It laid bare the undeniable damage phones & social media are causing.

If you want to boost reading, get children off their phones!. This Government is not doing the single most important things it could do to help, which are to ban smartphones at school & get children off social media.

Labour is in chaos over their broken pledge to hire 6,500 more teachers. There are 400 fewer. Labour promised taxing education would fund new staff, but the money’s being used to house illegal migrants. It’s no surprise MPs say there's no clear plan.

Labour’s flagship schools pledge is in tatters. I am not sure this is the defence DfE think it is. February is months after the election. This is not what teachers & parents were led to believe. They are massaging the numbers because teacher numbers are falling.

We all have a role to play. In the 70s and 80s, 83% of children were out of nappies by 18 months. Today, 1 in 4 reception-age children isn’t potty-trained. That’s not just a system issue, it’s a cultural one. And it’s on all of us to shift it.

School governors have leads for finance and safeguarding, but rarely for early years. Appointing a governor to track GLD progress would help ensure children don’t fall behind before they’ve begun.

The Government’s school readiness target is being measured using EYFS scores at the end of reception. We need a target that actually reflect school readiness, not the work of brilliant teachers.
