We’re here at the @LGBTLabour social event in London. Nearly an hour past the advertised start time, and still no sign of the committee, except for the secretary. Very telling.

In one hour from now, @LGBTLabour was due to have their AGM. Instead, they decided to deny members the choice of who they want to lead the fight for equality, solidarity, and justice. They have questions to answer. The @transalliance25 will continue this fight.

Our committee will be meeting this evening to discuss and examine the abhorrent guidance issued by the government in the last few days. In the absence of @LGBTLabour, we must do all that we can to fight.

Release the constitution, @LGBTLabour. We're waiting 👇.

We will continue to hold power to account because it's the right thing to do. Just as we welcome accountability when we get it wrong, others should expect the same. Leadership means being answerable, not untouchable. (2/2).

They call it "attacking". We call it "accountability." Pride in Labour has consistently challenged behaviour and decisions that have harmed our community. If that's uncomfortable for some, it might be worth reflecting on why being held to account feels so personal. (1/2).
