New year. New pinned clay poast.
Data decays, paper rots, the cloud is not yours, CD’s and magnetic tape delaminate and demagnetize.
Use a storage medium which TRULY lasts forever. Clay tablets.
there’s a genre of phrases that sound like they’re from the bible or like paradise lost, but really, really aren’t. like “there are cathedrals everywhere for those with the eyes to see” which is ofc a jordan peterson tweet about a bottle of evian. what are the others?

Every few months I take my change jar. Empty it out and turn it into dollar coins. I then put these coins into a Crown Royal bag and then spend them at a local Renaissance Fair.
They LOVE it there.

Arresting and silencing doctors who tried to warn the world about the virus is part of the protocol?
Don't get me wrong, westerners need to start cleaning and stop massing together, but let's not act like China is blameless either.

I got nothin against the Gen Z kids. I hope they have better opportunities and do better than I'm doin.
Wanting anything besides the best for the next generation is sickness.

I hope my future children are more successful than I am. I hope my kids have nothin but opportunity an happiness.
I'm worried they WON'T but man, if you're not rootin for the next generation, you really gotta revaluate your values.
@lovemaxultra
You ever try to run an RP with someone else playing an invincible perfect character? It’s frustrating.
They’re hard to lean into if you try to play along you rapidly run into power-creep.
And there’s no “building” of characters fighting flaws, etc.
@lovemaxultra
They’re fine if you’re writing a story by yourself. But if you’re trying to build a universe, collaboratively, they’re frustrating and annoying.
@sulfidehex
It’s funny. I’ve done various mesoamerican and pacific island drugs and the first 2-3 times I had weird spiritual visions. Realized all revelations on drugs are your brain lying to you about profundity by writing things down while high. Visions stopped.

If we trust people to be released from prison, we MUST trust them to re-integrate into society.
Full restoration of rights upon release.

2. Not just for weight, but also coloration, Lead Oxide can really make your cinnamon “pop”

Visibly sweating as I try to discern the vibe of the coffee shop I'm in, I fat-finger a press, the barista flips the iPad back around, raising an eyebrow at me.

I noticed that a lot of the people who picked up Balatro early on were fairly normal guys. Lotta puzzle/optimization type games.

My friend, watching a 40+ hour documentary on a person who has contributed nothing to the world that matters in any significant way is an extremely odd thing to do.
It doesn't matter how neutral it is, it doesn't matter how well researched it is, it's odd to care this much.
I’m glad this resonates with so many people. Remember that even a small positive impact on someone may be just what they need to get through another day.
@beautypilled
There is something so distressing about his mannerisms and expressions.
A sort of studied/practiced condescension.
Not so much masking disdain, but trying to show it in such a specific way.
@sulfidehex
Recognition of this very simple fact, that an addled, poisoned brain is terrible at self-assessment is the fastest way to break out of this spiritual state.
The biggest danger with "ending world hunger" is that it's not actually going to end world hunger, it's going to make poor countries more reliant on Western Nations because we won't be giving them the means to feed themselves.
Infrastructure, not "in-kind aid" is what fixes this.

What's wild is that the people upset about this don't realize how high the throughput is on the bike trail, almost every one of those people using the path is removing a potential car from the roads.
So they're taking up 1 lane but providing the throughput of 2 or 3 lanes.
I'll be honest, the reason I hold onto this is because I work in Emergency Medicine and am constantly confronted by it.
No matter my efforts, I can't save everyone, despite doing everything right, people still die.
But my goal is to try to save everyone.

Zach, I literally started prepping in 2009 after the first SARS pandemic. I was prepared for either an extensive natural disaster (think, Hurricane Katrina), another pandemic, or a solar flare. Explicitly, this is exactly what many preppers prepped for.
Of the people that died in the Jan 6 riot, 2 were Trump supporters who had heart attacks. 1 dude overdosed. And the only person who was KILLED was an unarmed woman tryin to CoD Zombie her way into the chamber before getting shot in the throat by Secret Service.

Personally, I'd have the person have to kill the animal themselves.
The deer I have personally shot and butchered are the freshest meat I've had.
People have lost their connection to the food they eat, and this project would fix that.

I will always defend this piece, not for the reason, I think, Duchamp wanted me to though.
Think about the hundreds of hours the designer of that urinal spent, all the specialized equipment, the labor. All that human capital to provide a thing for us to comfortably piss in.

It’s endlessly annoying when people imply “everyone can do something like this.” As if social media based income does not rely on millions of people who do not make their income from social media to earn a living.
Going to start lecturing journalists calling for gun-control, starting each lecture with, "As someone physically stronger, and far meaner than you," and then going into the meat of the argument.
