Long-term, I really don't think Democrats can afford to give up on both Texas and Florida. They're too big, growing too quickly, too important, and too easy to gerrymander. Now as to which one they should focus on in the future, TX still seems more promising to me on the whole.

The idea that young voters are some ultra-based conservative generation just doesn't seem to be borne out by nearly any evidence. For instance, Yale's spring 2025 youth poll finds young people, across the board, are more dovish on illegal immigration.
