It seems mostly rickshaws are off the roads due to metro. Rickshaws and two-wheelers slow down the traffic on highways. There should be a penalty for 3 & 2-wheelers from using centermost lanes of the highway.

Instead of building 1000s of Airports, it is better to build HighSpeedRail like Bullet train. We don't want to pollute like the US. Ticket prices can be rationalised. But we need to look at the overall economic benefit and not just operational profits/loss.
While bullet trains are eco-friendly & cut travel time by hours (Mumbai-Ahmedabad = 7hrs to 2), it costs Rs 115 CRORE per kilometre to construct & fares are incredibly high.
The core question: Are bullet trains are beneficial for India? I explain.

I feel Versova-Virar sea link is a bit of a stretch. A simple freeway from Vasai Virar west till Dahisar West where coastal road phase 2 ends would be more than enough.

Suburban Railway Upgradation needs to be prioritized as well.
Metro is not a like-for-like replacement of local trains. Both systems have their own key use cases.
Mumbai is upgrading. Yes, 337 KM Metro may become a reality in next 3 to 5 years.

Would be interesting to see the locals reaction once the metro starts running on this stretch and they miss out on this station.
Due to protests by locals, MMRDA is likely to cancel one more station, (National College) on Line 2B.
This will be the third station to be dropped on Line 2B by MMRDA. The other two are Lokmanya Terminus (Kurla) and MHADA Stations.

I am expecting a 10% reduction in traffic on Vashi bridge after the opening of MTHL on Jan 12, 2024.
After Navi Mumbai Airport starts, about 20% reduction & after Navi Mumbai Coastal road connecting MTHL to Belapur, about 50-60% reduction.

Kurar underpass on WEH & part of SCLR will be opened today.
Tomorrow, 10th February is a special day for Maharashtra, especially for improving connectivity. The Mumbai-Solapur and Mumbai-Sainagar Shirdi Vande Bharat trains will be flagged off. The Santacruz Chembur Link Road and Kurar underpass will also be dedicated to the nation.

Blue Line 1. Starting Feb 1, Blue Line 1 will have 398 trips instead of existing 380, an increase of 18 trips. Frequency also up during peak hours from nearly 4 min. earlier to 3 min 40 secs.
