It seems mostly rickshaws are off the roads due to metro. Rickshaws and two-wheelers slow down the traffic on highways. There should be a penalty for 3 & 2-wheelers from using centermost lanes of the highway.

Instead of building 1000s of Airports, it is better to build HighSpeedRail like Bullet train. We don't want to pollute like the US. Ticket prices can be rationalised. But we need to look at the overall economic benefit and not just operational profits/loss.

Suburban Railway Upgradation needs to be prioritized as well. Metro is not a like-for-like replacement of local trains. Both systems have their own key use cases.

Appreciation Post A lot of Metro barricades have been removed by @MMRDAOfficial in the past few months and most of the roads/medians have been restored. Road/median Restoration seems to have been prioritized. The City roads are coming back to life!

@rasikruskin Long way to go for Mumbai Mumbai does not have rivers like Kochi. Sea on the Western side gets rough and can't operate ferries during monsoon. Currently, only the eastern side is feasible for the water metro.

Due to protests by locals, MMRDA is likely to cancel one more station, (National College) on Line 2B. This will be the third station to be dropped on Line 2B by MMRDA. The other two are Lokmanya Terminus (Kurla) and MHADA Stations.

Some key predictions (from me): - Traffic on Vashi bridge will reduce by 30% - Pune-bound traffic can bypass Navi Mumbai all together. Sion-Panvel Highway will be relieved. - Traffic on Eastern freeway might increase (Reason why Worli-Sewri connector is crucial)

I am expecting a 10% reduction in traffic on Vashi bridge after the opening of MTHL on Jan 12, 2024. After Navi Mumbai Airport starts, about 20% reduction & after Navi Mumbai Coastal road connecting MTHL to Belapur, about 50-60% reduction.

UPDATE! 18 more train services on Versova-Ghatkopar #MumbaiMetro Blue Line 1. Starting Feb 1, Blue Line 1 will have 398 trips instead of existing 380, an increase of 18 trips. Frequency also up during peak hours from nearly 4 min. earlier to 3 min 40 secs.
