I worked in Erasmus for the Commission. It was massively loaded against the UK. This is a huge mistake,
@Rosessolutions Here's a good place to start. £105 million was spent on Turing in the 2024/25 academic year, and helped fund over 43,000 student placements for British students. The Erasmus scheme on average saw around 15,000 British students a year, and cost the UK between £200-300 million

@elliereeves If the Tories denied people that opportunity, how come 40,000 Brits went abroad under Turing last year while only around 10-15k per year travelled under Erasmus?

This is straightforwardly and demonstrably false. It is a lie. The Tories replaced Erasmus with Turing. Turing offers Europe's Erasmus countries + the rest of the world. No doors were shut: more than 200 additional ones were opened.
The Tories shut the door on young Brits going to Europe. Reform want to lock it for good.🔒 Well Labour’s reopening it. ✅ Erasmus is BACK, giving young people reason to celebrate. 🙌 🇬🇧🇪🇺

A working family now needs £71k just to match the income of a jobless 3-child household. This morning Starmer will claim he’ll cut welfare, but EVERYONE knows he hiked taxes to record levels to fund a bloated welfare state. Spare us. He rewards dependency, not work. Don’t

In the end it was the old-fashioned Labour tax-and-spend Budget. But it was even worse marked a new era for Britain in which taxes and public spending remain permanently elevated.

The BBC often drove me crackers when I was PM. But despite its flaws it remains one of Britain’s most valuable assets and a global voice for democratic values in an ideologically contested age. My column on what change at the BBC must look like 👇 https://t.co/uSetzPHDlH

The corporation enhances Britain’s standing and appeal, but its unique status requires a unique approach to ensuring trust. It must challenge its own failings

Shameful. Labour promised to cut your energy bills by £300. They’ve risen by £200 instead. We just gave Labour MPs the chance to back our Cheap Power Plan to cut everyone’s electricity bill by 20% INSTANTLY. Labour voted it down. Back our plan 👉🏾 https://t.co/8vqz140hJn

I don't know @jcartlidgemp at all. But the way he got under David Lammy's skin at PMQs by just asking a simple question & getting no answer (knowing the answer when the Government itself didn't) was brilliant parliamentary work. And absolutely shambolic from this Government...
Tories knew about the missing foriegn prisoner about 15 minutes before PMQs. Police found out about the prisoner’s release yesterday. He was missing for 6 days. Is inconceivable David Lammy wasn’t told yesterday about the prisoner yesterday. Sounds like No10 just found out

David Lammy’s excuse for failing to come clean about the accidental release of a foreign sex offender has now collapsed. Keir Starmer may have jetted off to Brazil, but back home his goverment is in chaos and the public deserves urgent answers. Get a grip Prime Minister.
Exclusive: I'm told the Met Police would have had absolutely *no issues* with David Lammy confirming the accidental release of a migrant sex offender from jail at PMQs There was no operational issue and indeed there is precedent for the prison service making announcements about

What we saw from the Chancellor today was a waffle-bomb. Rachel Reeves must stop blaming others & admit she’s made a mess. Fairness means living within our means so our children don’t pay for her mistakes. She should grow a backbone, steal our plan & get Britain working again.

Thanks to @MaxChauhan for helping me and @janetevansRBKC listening to South Kensington residents for @KCFConservative today. Lots of good feedback and residents want to keep RBKC's excellent services under @Conservatives control in 2026.

Well this is awkward. #RachelReeves
There is one other pattern that emerges in every single Labour scandal. The story always changes. There's always one more excuse. But the constant is that by the end, what they said at the beginning always turns out to have been untrue.

Our plan to crush crime will triple stop and search, and we’d hire 10,000 extra police officers to get it done.

With @janetevansRBKC after finishing a full round of visiting every accessible household in Courtfield ward this autumn listening to residents for @KCFConservative - keeping in touch with our voters is not just for election year, but they do like our @Conservatives council.

Whatever one might think about Rachel Reeves’ misdemeanours, the real scandal is that property owners have to pay off the council to rent out their own homes. Unlike Reeves, who had been tweeting in support of this legislation at the same time she wasn’t complying with it, I’d

The Prime Minister must launch a full investigation. He once said “lawmakers can’t be lawbreakers”. If, as it appears, the Chancellor has broken the law, then he will have to show he has the backbone to act.
