We were asked repeatedly to be mindful and respectful. You would think this sort of thing wouldn’t need to be specified as a no-go for that criteria.
Currently in a central London A&E with an injured friend. A lady just staggered in, extremely short of breath, hyperventilating, barely able to stand and clearly in a lot of pain from it. The nurse refused to take her for care unless she put on a mask. I am speechless. Revolted.

The poor lady didn’t even try and fight it, probably because she was physically too weak. But the fact a medical professional can see someone in that state and their first thought be “put on a [useless] mask” is really alarming.

My mum just made a rather astute observation that if you close your eyes, Rishi Sunak sounds an awful lot like Tony Blair. He’s somehow even less appealing now than he was four minutes ago.

Was in a busy London Bridge pub for the minute silence for Her Majesty the Queen. Most rose to their feet, and you could have heard a pin drop. The second the clock hit 8.01, the room spontaneously burst into rapturous applause. I just love this country.
articulate aryan zoomer operating at 30% power level makes owen look very silly here. it's easy to run circles around them when you have truth on your side

There is a fully staffed crèche on the Parliamentary Estate and a family room with extensive facilities right next to the Commons chamber.

'Everything that drove Ronald Reagan was to do with freedom, it was to do with individual liberties and the right of people to choose their own destiny.'

reflects on Ronald Reagan's legacy on the 40 year anniversary of his speech at Westminster.

Well, quite. The poor lady is so short of breath she fell down at the reception desk and couldn’t speak. So, naturally, the nurses thought it fit to restrict her ventilation further.
A source tells me the 1922 executive are doubling down on banning phones from the no confidence voting process as the government Whips are wanting MPs to take photos of their ballots. A new low.
The Labour Party criticising cancer treatment times after pushing for even more lockdowns and restrictions than the Tories is an attempt to rewrite history and hoodwink the public to an almost insulting degree.
Walking through Westminster this evening listening to a compilation of Margaret Thatcher’s greatest speech moments. Even after so many years, I’ll never grow used to the absolute magnificence of our Houses of Parliament 🇬🇧

Perpetually advocated extreme COVID measures, told us we should have closed schools sooner, then said he’d never have locked us down in the first place when the economy tanked. I can’t be the only one not filled with optimism.

Whenever I feel vexed at the deficiencies of our Tory government I take solace in reminding myself that this absolute cretin didn’t end up running the country.
The unfolding events in Israel and Palestine are deeply alarming.
We need an immediate ceasefire and urgent de-escalation.
And we need a route out of this tragic cycle of violence: ending the occupation is the only means of achieving a just and lasting peace.
Jeremy Hunt used his GB News debut this morning to tell

that if he was PM he would have fast-tracked Test & Trace and avoided locking us down at all. An admirable prospect, but unlike Boris he has the luxury of hindsight.

Cardinal Nichols addressing Her Majesty’s funeral is monumental. Queen Elizabeth did much more to heal divisions between the CofE and the Catholic Church than almost any other. Her affectionate relationship with Cardinal Hume was a catalyst for harmonising centuries-long tensions
It was such an honour to have an appearance from President Donald Trump on tonight’s show paying tribute to Her Majesty The Queen 👑🇺🇸🇬🇧

The appointment of

as Foreign Secretary is the ultimate highlight of this entire saga. He was a future star from the moment he entered the Commons in 2015.
@AmyNicks_
I'm not sure people are annoyed that he's withholding his opinions. They're annoyed that he seems so willing to express them most of the time - like comparing the UK government to Nazis - but terrorists massacring civilians doesn't seem to motivate him to put thumb to screen.
Theresa May had her issues in office, but Ian Blackford is right - she behaved with dignity, and is the most qualified person in the entire Commons to pass judgement on this situation.
Sudden panic stampede off the Northbound Bakerloo line at Baker Street, frantic passengers and staff running everywhere - one passenger said gunshots were heard. Unconfirmed, but something happened.
@philipjcowley
Probably the darkest one of these encounters I heard of was a Jack Russell darting towards its front door at the sound of the letterbox only to hit it with such momentum that it broke its own neck.
When I was a Parliamentary staffer, after a particularly unpleasant experience with a former MP, I raised concerns about ex Parliamentarians having a default right to passes on the basis they open too many passages for abuse. Nothing changed, but this is at least welcome news.
BREAKING:
Former Speaker of the House of Commons, John Bercow, has been banned for life from holding a parliamentary pass after an independent panel found he was a "serial bully".
