I thought it was fairly standard practice to state in the client agreement that you will not interact with clients on social media, in the same way that you wouldn't interact with them in public.
Also what practitioner has time to be looking up patient profiles?! Creepy as!
So very sad.
A woman who dedicated her memoirs to the staff of St Patrick's psychiatric hospital in Dublin.
She came to visit my dad at our house in the 90s shortly before releasing her brilliant album Universal Mother. Just a beautiful soul.

My favourite is when everyone goes to sit down only to realise the priest isn't finished.... The "half down back up again" shuffle. The die hards are mortified

Where men don't even think about holding the emotions of women, it's pretty much ALL women think about when it comes to saying no. Possibly because of fear. Reminds me of relationships in which she wants to leave but the thought of having to hold his reaction is too much to bear.

Thank you. He was never disheveled and to label a man as depressed with no evidence of any kind of diagnosis is just offensive. My dad died a man ready to retire and spend the time earlier sacrificed for his career, with his kids and grandkids. Don't believe everything you read x
I passed my final academic case study submission which means I just need to complete my clinical hours and I'm a qualified sex and Relationship Therapist!

The real beauty of sex therapy is the provision of a space wherein a person can talk, without fear of judgement, to a fellow human about the kinds of things they wouldn't dream of talking to anyone else about. Witnessing that sense of liberation is a thing to behold.

@JamesEsses
This is just naive.
It's no secret that the criminal justice system has been failing rape victims, probably since its inception.
The number of rape reports that are brought to trial, usually after 6 months of CPS deliberation is pitiful let alone the conviction rate.
Alcohol causes three times as many deaths per year than all prescription medication combined.
We rarely hear about the harms of alcohol and I notice that the anti-meds brigade never show any interest in supporting charities for addiction/dependency.
So sad for victims of this awful breakdown in the health systems but I assure you blaming the Doctors who are doing their best in horrendous circumstances is really not the answer.
We need to be encouraging Dr's to choose psychiatry, not be making it more difficult.

Got to wonder about the racing community. So quick to hang one of your own. The reaction of the general public I can understand and I understand the damage it does to racings "image". But jeeze, he's only human, give him a bit of a break.
@BillEsdaile
Absolutely. No one is free from guilt. And I'd say plenty of those commenting have done some shitty things in their lives up to now. There is no perspective here.
@jennythetudor
So much of it is about you as a person and whether you will fit in with the team. I'm on placement with a DV charity and in my interview I spoke about my decision to become a therapist and what my ambitions were. Best advice is "be yourself".
Enormously influential psychiatrist and broadcaster Dr Anthony Clare, presenter of the revealing interview series In the Psychiatrist's Chair, died on this day in 2007.
These are his seven secrets of happiness.

I do think he is really quite mentally unwell. I actually feel sorry for him and his family who clearly can't get through to him either.
Amazon shouldn't be selling those things, surely if you're exempt you have a proper medical exemption? Otherwise WEAR THE DAMN MASK please.

Embarrassingly inept. It highlights the ease and opportunity for abuse to go undetected within the industry, an industry in which young girls in particular often from difficult backgrounds find work within a male dominated workplace.

Here's the thing right, good people are not responsible for the behaviour of bad people.
Cleverest thing the patriarchy ever did was convince women that they are to blame when men fuck up.

. The portrayal of how a person can be lured into an abusive relationship is brilliant. Lends a real understanding to the birth and growth of toxic relationships.

This is just another report of many and the action stated is minimal. If you're encouraging school leavers often from disadvantaged backgrounds into the sport there should be provision of an accessible mental health service not just a phone line that isn't always answered.
Research shows that sex reliably increases at two times of the year. One peak occurs in the summer (specifically, June and July), while the other occurs during that holiday week between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

He was lovely. Graffiti in IoP loo.
Question: what's the difference between God and Anthony Clare
Answer: God is everywhere. Anthony Clare is everywhere except here.
Just had the maddest phone conversation with the Scottish organised crime unit....
I thought they'd finally caught up with me, but they had the wrong number.
So I'm still at large basically.

1983: The first episode of Motives aired – a series in which psychologist Dr Anthony Clare interviewed public figures about who they really are. First in the chair was footballer George Best, who spoke about finding it hard to say no and being a loner.

Total charlatan. Can only assume she doesn't actually see clients as I can't imagine any of mine would hear this and go "oh wow great I'm cured"
When a womans points are attributed to her emotions, misogyny suggests shes being irrational and as a result she loses credibility.
It's sad to see this outdated attitude still pervades amongst "experienced investigators" within horseracing's governing body.

Controversial from Annie shocker!! I appreciate the book but I don't love it and some of my clients have struggled with it so I don't recommend it anymore. Like most things in therapy, it's not for everyone.
No couples booked in tomorrow, which is a shame really as a therapy session could be the best thing you could do for your relationship!

A few years ago, something strange happened in Tourette's clinics. The typical patient used to be a young boy aged 5-7, with simple tics such as blinking.
But now doctors were seeing something new: teenage girls with acute, explosive tic attacks. (1/7)
Some may think that being a sex therapist is some kind of frivolous pursuit that isn't particularly important.

This beggers belief - documents aside he must have talked the talk. No psychologist gets a job on qualifications alone. I'm guessing ACTUAL psychologists were turned down for these posts as well.
