Another thing: for years people have been calling for right to work for asylum seekers. Laws still so restrictive that most asylum seekers still cannot. Instead of letting asylum seekers work & contribute to society, Gov pays massive money to hold them in direct provision centres

Glad you like the song! But they're not bogus asylum seekers, they have the right to apply for asylum. And it's not unsustainable if we stop prioritising housing profiteers and let asylum seekers work.

So one response to the fine can be to sneer at a union that is fighting alongside the students it represents to end Trinity's complicity in genocide & apartheid. The other is to recognise the battle you're in & keep building fight for divestment. And beat the fine in the process.

In fact, during the campaign, students' horizons were raised & we were making much more radical demands of Trinity than simply scrapping the fee. Trinity conceded, not cos we were good & polite & did things the right way, but cos direct actions, occupations & protests forced them
