“At least 2/3 of individuals with Long COVID contained [SARS-CoV-2] infected megakaryocytes,” says Dr. Morgane Bomsel. “This suggests that megakaryocytes form reservoirs in LC patients—which may produce platelets sheltering infectious SCV2.”

Horrified by the death of our Massachusetts neighbor Emmanuel Damas in ICE custody. He was denied medical care for months. I’m sending his family my deepest condolences. A family who has been robbed of their brother & son. Emmanuel is at least the tenth person to die in ICE

Please take a moment to imagine all the obstetric ultrasounds they performed in that tiny, airless room before realizing they were sick. Yeah. I’m quote tweeting myself because I’m PISSED.
The last 2 times I’ve come to this lab, this sign has been on the door. And I’m sitting in the car waiting for them to text me for my turn for bloodwork because the co2 is almost 2000 ppm. I can’t imagine why they’re sick all the time.

@NotOstriching COVlD research is close to blacklisted at this point. We've had grant applications triaged (hundreds of hours of work flushed down the toilet), and others get just absolutely ludicrous reviews because you have to convince unmasked Covid-uninformed people to take Covid research

@DJCanoe Difficult to fully answer in a tweet It’s definitely more complicated than just oral hygiene It’s about avoiding oral dysbiosis, which is mainly diet related Consume things we humans have evolved to put in our mouths (and which our oral microbiome has coevolved to tolerate)

We have a big paper dropping at 23:30 GMT/6:30 PM ET. It's not about Long Covid, but I think it is one of the most important studies our team has done. For my Long Covid community: we are working very hard, we have a pipeline of projects, and new work is coming. My team and I
