30+ years ago, my friends and I found an empty (but clearly in use) camper in the forest on my parents' property. We went inside, roughed things up, and acted all territorial about it. My parents were not proud. They were furious. I think about it to this day.

My working theory is that this proposal is not even meant to get off the ground. It's election season theatrics meant to get progressives excited. Biden scores points then blames the opposition when it goes nowhere. At least I really hope so.

The problem I run into with my progressive friends is the redefinition of Socialism. The goal posts are moved wherever they need to be. "Socialism" just means fire departments! Do you like fires? And they point to Scandinavia and say, "SEE? Happy! There's nothing to worry about!"

I remember that. I don't know whether it's dangerous or not but I do know people cared really loudly and now they don't. Perhaps the mold is wiping our memories so it can take over unimpeded.

I think this may be more of a late 20th century phenomenon. Conservative thinkers of earlier eras had much deeper appreciation for the arts. Maybe the late 60s freakiness scared them off and left the field wide open for leftist domination.

I started my own business at 36 after 20 years of working for others. I very quickly realized that self-employment had made me unemployable. When things get overwhelming I sometimes pine for the 9-5, punch-in-punch-out life, but only for about 30 seconds. Then I snap out of it.

All dog breeds have been selectively bred for certain characteristics, both physical and behavioral. Pit bulls were created to be killing machines. It is in their nature, and cannot be fully trained out. They may act fine one day, then snap and kill a baby.
