Here’s quite a niche recommendation but if you love economics and Cambridge, then this podcast episode is for you. Your very own tour of Cambridge buildings with significance in the world of economics, brought to you by the ever funny, ever intelligent @EconomicsinTen duo 🤓🤓

As an economics teacher, you can’t go to the @sciencemuseum and not go and see Bill Phillips’ MONIAC machine modelling the circular flow of income 🤓

A really interesting event celebrating 20 issues of Impact from @CharteredColl. Great to hear from a range academic editors committed to teachers’ research engagement, and from Pheobe and the team who make the journal a reality. It’s so valuable in our profession 👏

The further 2p cut announced in today’s Budget brings the main rate of employee NICs down to 8%, a sharp drop from its peak of 13.25% just 18 months ago. These recent cuts to NICs reverse a decades-long trend of increasing headlines rates of NICs, while cutting income tax rates.

Overall, teacher recruitment this year is similar to last year’s poor performance, but there is big variation between phases/ subjects, and where applications are coming from: - Secondary up 13%, primary down 11% - Growth dominated by international recruitment More 👇

The new ITTECF includes a statement (8.9) on how 'Research evidence can vary in its level of reliability...' ⬇️This guide should help providers and those working with trainee and early career teachers in combining sources of evidence, and question claims made⬇️

1/ 📢This week @EducEndowFoundn published 'Using Research Evidence: A Concise Guide'. 📢 Teachers, leaders, and others working in school improvement are increasingly engaging with research evidence but we lack shared understanding for what it is and how it can be useful.
