This GrowSF tweet is so dumb. Yes, SFUSD no longer has a course called 8th grade algebra. Stanford mathematicians revamped the curriculum 10 years ago and kids are learning algebraic concepts in elementary school. Get with the times, folks!
It's time to legalize algebra. Kids in 8th grade deserve the chance to take algebra!
San Francisco public schools are outliers on math education. While our neighbors teach algebra in 8th (or 7th!) grade, we ban it until 9th grade. This must change!

I know the SF left hates math but this city went from 1,868 officers in 2019 to 1,537 this year.
Also funny that this "Bernie" supporter is anti-police. Bernie legislated huge grants to hire more police, a pro-safety, pro-worker, anti-austerity record.

I'm a public school parent. I support the union’s stance. The city & the state WON’T promise the $ for safety protocols to insure safe in-person instruction. We shouldn’t be having in-person instruction w/o safety protocols while SF is in the purple tier. Why is this not obvious?

SF is at a 300 officer deficit of “full time” police. And the far left voices on the Board of Supervisors have added so much new paperwork that officers spend hours filing out forms for every police-civilian interaction that most don’t even bother doing basic police work.

I was just at Dolores Park, missed the arrests but managed to talk to a few groups of kids that had gotten away. They said cops had shoved them and swung batons (and missed,) one said he had a baton just missed his shoulder as he broke the line and ran past but lost his board :(
