Words cannot explain how crazy it is to turn a corner & see a 20 foot version of your face on a wall! I am so grateful & honoured that

Time is running out. The Arctic is melting, and could be gone by the time I’m in my 30s, and we need our leaders to make a decision now.
I did the most northerly climate strike ever in the Arctic to convey my desperation and the urgency of the issue.
I am massively proud to announce that
@BristolUni
is awarding me a BSc

on 20th Feb 2020. I think that I will be the youngest person in the UK to receive one after
@Malala
. It is for my environmental, diversity & Black2Nature campaigning. Thank you for your support
So, I got it wrong, I am actually being awarded an honorary Doctorate of Science, D.S.c. h.c. - I really can't believe it. It is for running nature camps for inner-city VME teenagers & children, Race Equality in Nature conferences & campaigning to make the sector diverse

Happy New Year to all my family, friends & followers. Wishing you a healthy, peaceful & positive 2022. Thank you for your love & support. I know I have fewer followers than some young environmentalists, but I appreciate all of you & am happy knowing there are no racists among you
A fantastic day yesterday receiving my

To my dearest friend, I am so happy that you have won your case. I know you would not have rushed into this, having been abused & attacked so many times before. Being cross-examined is a horrendous experience- Chris Packham wins libel claim against website

At 17, she's the youngest Briton to be awarded such an honour. It recognises her work to engage more children from minority ethnic backgrounds in conservation 🐦
I am a 17-year-old BME environmentalist campaigning alone to make to the sector ethnically diverse, as only 0.6% of environmental professionals are BME, leading to them failing to engage BME ppl & get them out into green spaces. Please, can you follow me to help my campaigning?
Bob on BirdForum says I’m (just) a lister not a skilled birder like him. I’m in the field 14-16 hrs a day for 6-10 weeks straight, spending huge amounts of time watching & photographing birds as well as writing & giving talks on birds, eco tourism & conservation projects 1/2
Happy Birthday Sir David Attenborough, thank you for bringing nature to millions of people who would otherwise have not understood our love for it. Born 76 yrs & old 1 day apart, just before this photo we had a laugh about me being the youngest & him be the oldest ppl there
This is essential watching for anyone confused about what is happening in the NHS now - it has gone from the best in the world to the worst in Europe in 10 years. NHS waiting lists are the longest EVER. Did you vote Tory? Wake up and support the junior doctors strike
Every single word Andrew says is factual and he expresses the sense of despair so many of us on the frontline feel…

I need your urgent help if you live in the Bristol area for our day out for Afghani Refugees on Tues 4th Jan. We need volunteers to give each family a lift. Either pick up at 10.30 am in Bristol or 2 pm in Chew Stoke. We will only need max of 1.5 hrs of your help each way. Thanks
Been having lots of fun reporting & blocking racists on my feed this morning. The biggest problem is working out what they are actually trying to say! I’m half British Sylheti Bangladeshi & half White Liverpudlian British & very proud & connected with both sides of my heritage
@RSPBEngland
Thank you to the RSPB for taking this bold step. When a PM & her lackeys only care about 0.5% of the population & 0% of nature & the planet, we must stand together, from all parties, to protest & force change, telling them we will not be silenced & will never vote for them again
I attended a meeting at 10 Downing St 2day with Sir John Randall which was fantastic. We discussed the need 2 engage young people, inc BAME in nature & environment. We need gov, local gov, charities & schools 2 act

I have just become the youngest person in the UK at age 17 to be awarded an honorary Doctorate of Science, so why do a whole load of old White male birders choose to troll me just at that point?? They will say they have justification, but they don’t criticise each other

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since this moment! But it’s another year of our leaders failing to fight climate breakdown. COP 26 is 6 weeks away, and our leaders need to be reminded that the world is watching. Action has to be taken now

I don’t accept that. 30 years ago there was no palm oil in our foods. It’s there as a filler, making good cheaper to make, that’s all. Palm oil is a hard fat that is probably going to clog our arteries & kill us off. It doesn’t need to be replaced
@BirdgirlUK
I think the NGOs would disagree with you. Palm oil is by far the most efficient oil crop. Any alternative would be vastly more damaging. We need to hope for a synthetic alternative, and in the meantime try to eat less processed foods. It doesn’t look good.
I’m really proud 2 announce that I’ve been included in "The BME Powerlist 2018 - Bristol's most influencial Black & Minority Ethnic People" 4 my campaigniing work with Black2Nature, with lots of gr8 Bristol ppl, many whom I’ve collaborated with

Tweeting about the lack of diversity in nature, I often feel that I am talking to a few loyal followers. Am I too controversial for nature organisations to RT me? I care passionately about birds of prey, badgers & foxes but we have to save species for everyone, not just the few
Finally, we have a twitter account for Black2Nature which I set up in 2016 & hope to have Charity Status soon -
@officialb2n
, so plse share & follow. We organise nature camps for VME young people, race equality in nature conferences & campaigning work for equal access to nature
Yesterday, we managed to see a Cape Gull. It was the 1st time one has been seen in the UK, although we had seen one previously in Africa. It was extra special for my mum

@UkBgh
have had support & following after trolls attacked them after being on
@BBCCountryfile
. Last year I appeared on a segment with
@DwayneFields
about the lack of diversity in the countryside. We had lots of abuse, with little support or sympathy follows. Why?
Before Brexit my MP
@Jacob_Rees_Mogg
promised me and his constituents in Ubley at a local hustings that all EU environmental protection would be preserved. Clearly another broken promise
Fourth time’s a charm? For the third time on Wednesday, MPs voted against amendments put forward by the House of Lords to
#REUL
– the Retained EU Law Bill – which leave crucial protections for nature at risk of being weakened in the future. (1/3)
I was on Vauxhall Bridge yesterday demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza. An hour later I was outside a locked Westminster tube station facing a big group of far right thugs, who attacked 2 women standing next to me. It was frightening to think about what could have happened.
Massive pro-Palestinian protest in London may be the largest since the start of the Gaza war.
According to the organizers, more than half a million people are taking part in the event
Just home from today’s tree planting day, encouraging VME out into the countryside to connect with nature. Today we had Muslim home schooled children & mums. Wonderful to them say prayers over each tree planted & praying outdoors. Looking forward to another group tomorrow.
they would go to the statue and throw their flowers up onto it. This is not an innocent block of metal, it is the focus of racism & the celebration of a mass murderer in our city. The wealth those ppl accumulated is all around us in this city & reparation needs to also take place
Sometimes birding experiences are totally indescribable. They last a few minutes and then they are over. I’ve seen Black-browsed Albatross in the UK but having one fly repeatedly over my head today at

Today our Camp Chew started for Visible Minority Ethnic primary age children from inner city Bristol. We have Bangladesh, Somali and Sudanese children non of whom have been to the countryside or camped. We could easily have filled 200 places with children but need funding 4 this
