The government’s interim report today from @BeckyFrancis7 sees the role of curriculum as providing ‘knowledge and skills for a flourishing civil society, promoting social cohesion & sustaining democracy.’ Thus, foundations for a new nat. curriculum should be built on #antiracism

@tes @BeckyFrancis7 Just read couple of pieces about interim review- as someone definitely on the more Traditionalist wing this feels like a thoroughly well balanced & considered set of recommendations. Never doubted someone as serious-minded as @BeckyFrancis7 - sounds like much-needed evolution.

I reckon there is nothing to fear from @BeckyFrancis7's interim review, and much to be hopeful about. It's necessarily a broad outline rather than a detailed picture, which means that people can interpret it like tea leaves to spell either disaster or victory, but I think it's a

Prof. Becky Francis knows that high standards can't just be for some children, they must be for all children. I'm so grateful for her work leading this crucial review to ensure all children get a cutting-edge education, and I welcome her interim report. https://t.co/dSz9ZNOosD

Good to see this interim report - it sets out very helpfully what is working in the current system, and where there is still more to do to. ⁌Great to see the breadth of contributions and depth of evidence informing this work ⁌@BeckyFrancis7⁊

From what I hear about @BeckyFrancis7‘s curriculum review it will lean into the ‘evolution not revolution’ angle mentioned at its inception. Less building a new world on the ashes of the old, more Chesterton’s Fence- don’t replace something until you understand why it was there

There has been a lot of crap - and worse - written about @BeckyFrancis7's Curriculum and Assessment Review. Some incredibly shoddy journalism was on display, even before a single word of the review had been published. I've said all along it would be both wise and sensible. 1/3
