I really welcome that @EducEndowFoundn is commissioning and publishing research on the crucial issue of recruitment and retention of teachers. We need to increase our evidence base about what can be genuinely effective and what lessons to learn, with rigour and transparency.

Many attendees at this year’s #CSTConf25 reflected on the importance of ‘belonging’ — for staff, for pupils, and for the wider school community. It’s a theme that sits at the heart of great leadership and helps create the conditions for everyone to flourish. (1/4)
When leaders focus on helping staff and pupils to flourish, everyone benefits. Evidence shows it’s not a trade-off with outcomes, but a catalyst for improvement, says @Ambition_Inst Hilary Spencer. Read more: https://t.co/NUEliTXR2B

Looking forward to this event, and the @Ambition_Inst sessions on SEND and inclusion and on leadership. Hopefully lots of rich discussions about some key elements of the education system.
"...It isn't a trade-off between supporting the flourishing of staff and enhancing pupil outcomes – they complement each other well, and are mutually reinforcing." Our CEO @h_spencer writes for @CSTvoice ahead of #CSTConf25 this week:

As someone with a long-standing interest in the gender pay gap, this is encouraging news and we should celebrate the progress. The government’s proposal to introduce ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting will add another dimension of data and understanding to the picture.
💸 The academy trust CEO gender pay gap has more than halved after closing for the third year in a row, a study has found https://t.co/ow57OsiEMk

I enjoyed reading this - thanks Louise. I really strongly agree with your point about early support being absolutely critical, and the importance of investing properly in how we deliver that as a system

ITT is a really important part of a teacher’s career, and it’s encouraging that an increasing number of people and organisations recognise that. But it doesn’t mean we should call for every new initiative or challenge to be included in the ITT curriculum. @Ambition_Inst
It’s great people recognise the value of education to tackle social issues – but we can’t overload ITT and new teachers by expecting them to take on every topic, says this ITT director https://t.co/9YbS7bBpOD

Really pleased to have published this report today - schools are working hard to rise to the challenges of inclusion. But there is more to do to make sure schools and teachers are supported well to do this, and make sure every child can achieve their potential. @InclusioninPrac
Inclusive schools know children 'well, early and often', offer 'coherent and expert targeted support' and see inclusion as a 'strategic and shared responsibility', a report commissioned by the government’s inclusion tsar has found https://t.co/18doLqnOeH
