I think we Muslims should ponder why political liberalism, initiated by thinkers like Locke, ultimately abolished slavery in the West. And why we didn't take Qur'an's call for "freeing a neck" (90:14) to end "Islamic slavery," which ended much belatedly with Western pressures.

“Date”? I hope you’re just trying to be dramatic. Anything else makes you look like a simpleton. The simple answer is, no! He did not “date” a 9 year old, but he did “marry” one according to the most reliable sources of Islam. Now, it is understandable why that troubles you and

Muslims really don't understand why the Prophet never said any of these Hadiths. It is not because of how we "feel". It is theological: the Prophet couldn't have said anything other than Quran. Here are some of the verses that explain that the Prophet only preached the Quran. 1/n

I chuckle when I see Muslims rejecting Hadiths because they don’t like how they make them feel. The Hadith wherein the Prophet—upon him blessing and peace—describes a particular people’s head as being “like a raisin” is one of the most anti-racist Hadiths that exists. Simply

Short answer is No. The Quran does not permit slavery or concubinage. The verses that are commonly construed as supporting slavery are misinterpreted by Quranic exegetes. This article aims to shed light on the true meaning of these verses.

Arab conquerors during the Islamic conquests were perceived as supremacists. They enslaved people, compelled them to pay taxes (jizya), and gradually eroded local cultures, actions that contradicted the teachings of the Quran. Muslim conquerers weren't particularly saints.

As can be seen, disregarding God's command regarding marriageable age and waiting until a person is financially responsible (Q4:6) would require a lot of misinterpretation to justify one's theology.
