Parliamentary Candidate
@SWHertsLabour
🌹 Promoted by Jenny Lewis on behalf of Alex Sufit, both at 270 St Albans Road, WD24 6PE. Trustee at
@RefugeCharity
.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for
#SWHerts
. Make your vote count on 4 July, and let's bring about the change this country, and our communities, need. I hope I can count on your support, in becoming South West Hertfordshire's first ever Labour MP. 🌹
It’s a true privilege to have been selected to represent
@UKLabour
in South West Hertfordshire. We deserve better, and as your
#UKLabour
MP, I will do everything in my power to ensure a brighter future for us all 🌹
Proud to be standing for a second time as your
@UKLabour
candidate for
#Hampstead
. Déjà vu anyone?
You voted Labour once. Let’s win this twice over! Come the July by-election, paint Hampstead Town Labour red 🎨 🌹
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
While it may be a disappointing result, I am immensely proud of our campaign. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for me, and all the brilliant campaigners who lent us their support. It has been a pleasure to stand in NW3 🌹
Phenomenal turnout for the last push in
#HampsteadTown
. Thank you to everyone who has supported
@CamdenLabour
during this by-election campaign. A hard-working, dedicated team who genuinely care about creating meaningful change - at a local and national level.
#StrongerTogether
It was a privilege to represent
@hampsteadlabour
as a first time delegate.
@Keir_Starmer
and the Shadow Cabinet presented a clear vision for what Britain could look like under a
#Labour
government. A fairer, greener Britain we can all be proud of.
#LabourConference2022
In case you’re wondering what it means to be standing as a
@UKLabour
and
@CoopParty
candidate, and why I’m so proud to be one, here’s a potted history:
The final (perfect summer) evening of canvassing before the election tomorrow. Polling stations open bright and early at 7am and close at 10pm. Every vote matters. Make it count.
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
@BBCSangita
There’s also a ‘thing’ about age gaps when it comes to screen couples. Men are almost invariably older (c. 80%) and the average gap is over 10 years. Some of the casting choices are pretty dubious too: Angelina Jolie cast as Colin Farrell’s mother. Age different: 1 year.
@KateBurkeNHS
@catdeakin
I hear you. Add to that: “it’s just a twinge” when women have a whole host of painful gynaecological procedures ‘sans pain relief’.
@dkaleniuk
Where is she now? Is there anything I can do? I’d gladly sponsor her to come to the UK, in a heartbeat. If I can help in any way, I will
@dkaleniuk
.
Great to join
@UKLabour
in
#Flitwick
today, to support parliamentary candidate
@alistrathern
. A former teacher, now working in Climate - Alistair promises to be the hardest working MP you’ve ever had.
This is your moment, Mid Beds - time for change 🌹
#MidBedfordshire
Last weekend of campaigning in
#NW3
. We’ve put our energy where it matters: speaking to residents. I’ve listened to different perspectives, understood your concerns, and I’m ready to reflect the voice of
#Hampstead
in Town Hall.
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
The countdown begins to the by-election in
#NW3
. Speaking to residents, it’s obvious what makes
#Hampstead
great. Its people. I’ll give us all a voice, and always fight your corner in Town Hall. On Thursday 7 July
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
@BBCSangita
In my experience (as an ex director) sexual harassment was still rife when I left the industry 5-6 years ago. The vast majority are freelancers, so you’re only as good as your last job and you keep your mouth shut to get the next one. Trouble is: who do you report this stuff to?
Incredible turnout this morning in Regent’s Park/St Pancras & Somers Town, to support
@SadiqKhan
and
@anne_clarke
. Good to catch up with
@CamdenLabour
regulars and meet a few fresh faces. Less than three weeks to go until Election Day! 🌹
It’s the final countdown! Thursday is election day. Thank you to everyone who has come to support. You know what to do NW3 - Let’s paint Hampstead Labour Red! 🌹
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
@soniasodha
But it you apply the same logic to a heterosexual/ straight person, one could accuse them of being homophobic for not being attracted to their own sex?
I was there in May, and I’m here now. That’s testimony to my commitment. NW3 born and raised, your issues are my issues. I’m standing for a second time because I want to make a difference. This Thursday, 7 July - you know what to do
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
#CelebratingWomenMPs
with
@CentenaryAction
group.
This week we came together for a cross-party celebration of women MPs, past and present, at the
#HousesofParliament
.
Women still only make up 35% of MPs, despite representing half the population.
Let’s get to 50/50 by 2028! 💪
These women. Humble souls, yet fierce warriors - the lot of them! It’s an honour to be in a room sharing power and supporting one another on the 10 year celebration of
@FabianWomen
.
@ChristineMegson
and
@CAdamsLab
we applaud you.
@thefabians
💪
More than one million
#civilians
have now fled
#Ukraine
, according to the
@UN
. Britain needs to play its part and take a share of those displaced by the
#conflict
. We must urgently waive
#visa
restrictions and open sponsorship programmes. A thread.
A warm reception in
#NW3
this Sunday morning. Thank you team
@UKLabour
! The countdown has begun ⏰ Make your vote count on Thursday 7 July, you know what to do
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
🌹
And we’re off! The General Election has been called, and I’ve been out in
#Watford
this morning for the big campaign kick off, to support our candidate
@Turmaine
on the
#LabourDoorstep
. This is our moment! Time for change 🗳🌹
Labour is on your side
#Hampstead
. If elected, I absolutely will tackle air pollution and traffic congestion in the area. Join our campaign to save the iconic No24. We need to protect our public transport links!
#OnYourSide
And we’re off. Speaking to Parliament Hill residents, on a perfect June evening. Feeling the Labour love in
#Hampstead
. You know what to do NW3🌹
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
@AasmahMir
It makes me think of this recent campaign from a Danish shoe brand. Yet another ‘well meaning, but tone deaf’ approach to diversity. Men proclaiming to be ‘allies’ without grasping what is means to be a woman in the workforce.
Everyone out in force this morning. Insightful discussions on the doorstep, including a lady who hasn’t voted in years but is going to make her voice heard on 7 July. Good. It wasn’t until 1928 that women (over 21) achieved the same voting rights as men. Every vote matters.
So many have come down to support the
#Hampstead
Town campaign, a huge thanks to you all! A few portraits ahead of the big day: Thursday 7 July is Election Day 🗳
After a year as Secretary of Hampstead & Kilburn CLP, I’ve stepped down, and stepped into my new role as Policy Officer. Good luck to
@georgermburn
who takes over as Secretary. It has been a pleasure to work with
@Steve_Crabb1
, our outgoing Chair and newly elected
@talktoharris1
.
The iconic 24 bus route is a lifeline for
#NHS
staff, patients, their friends and family, as well as local residents. It connects two major London hospitals:
@RoyalFreeNHS
and
@uclh
. Both house important oncology units.
@PankhurstEM
While it does not feel appropriate to ‘like’ this thread, thank you for speaking up. As someone who has volunteered at women-only refuges in the past, I’m still haunted by the stories I heard. I fail to grasp how this is ‘funny’ in that context.
@matthaig1
It’s an efficient way of undermining women by implying they are ‘crazy’, ‘difficult’ and, above all, ‘someone else’s problem’. Neatly shifting the blame away from the root cause - a classic gaslighting tactic. It seldom has anything to do with genuinely wanting to help a person.
“It isn’t too late to tackle this crisis. We can make a difference now, and we can make a difference to future generations.”
@Ed_Miliband
calling the room to take action on climate change.
#LonLab23
@UKLabour
The iconic No 24 is at real risk of being scrapped.
It’s a vital link between central London and
#Hampstead
- importantly the
@RoyalFreeNHS
.
It’s lifeline for those using pushchairs and wheelchairs, patients and their visitors, as well as local residents.
Evening canvassing in
#Hampstead
. As ever, it was great to chat to residents. Neighbours really, I’m NW3 born and raised. It was great to be joined by Nicki, a fellow
@FabianWomen
. And I promise Ernest did not put the entire stash of outcards though that door! 😆
Out and about in
#HampsteadTown
, talking to residents (and Labour-voting Corgi pups). If you’d like to vote by post: you have just a few days left. Postal vote applications need to be completed and returned by 5pm on Wednesday 22 June.
#LoveHampsteadVoteLabour
Born and raised in
#NW3
, this is home and I love our community. It would be an honour to give my time and energy to ensuring
#Hampstead
thrives.
It does matter who you vote for in local elections. Come July, let’s paint Hampstead Town Labour red 🌹
Historic win in
#Hampstead
Town. My fellow candidate, Adrian Cohen takes it! Hampstead is a two member ward. A first for Labour! I came very close, but not quite. Super proud of you Adrian.
@BHTLabour
@UKLabour
@CoopParty
Wonderful to bump into none other than the incredible
@CAdamsLab
, while campaigning in
#Uxbridge
. Caroline offered me a spot on the
@FabianWomen
’s mentoring and political education programme a few years ago… a game-changer of an opportunity, for game-changing women 💪❤️
There are 757,000 self-employed workers and 495,000 micro-businesses across London. Small but mighty, we contribute to the economy and to local communities.
@PeterPtashko
and myself speaking in support of London’s entrepreneurial spirit at
#LonLab23
I am indeed back for more, representing a party that I can be proud of at both a local and national level: Labour. Polled very well: a mere 59 votes behind Adrian. I was, and remain, prepared to serve as your
#Hampstead
Town councillor.
7 July:

North London out in force at the
@UKLabour
conference,
#Liverpool
. Colleagues across the CLPs united in their shared vision for a better future under Labour. Genuine solidarity in the room
#LabourConference2022
Calling all change-makers!
The knowledge, training and support of the
@FabianWomen
’s network is invaluable to so many women in public life. Whether you aspire to lead a charity or have ambitions to enter politics, I can’t recommend it enough. You have until 21 April to apply👇
Applications for this year’s FWN public life and political mentoring programme open today! Apply by midnight on 21 April 2024 and join some amazing women on a journey of sisterhood, solidarity & service.
A vigil was held for
#ZaraAleena
today. The law graduate was just minutes from her home in East London, when she was murdered after a night out. Ilford came together earlier, to finish the walk home. A heartbreaking loss for her family, friends and community.
Actor Micheal Sheen’s 2015
#NHS
speech is so potent and powerful, it should be a mandatory lullaby for every politician. As Bevan said “no society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of lack of means.”
Basingstoke, you’re in luck: in
@natasapantelic5
you have a fantastic
@LabourParty
candidate. She’s a talented and dedicated individual, and an all round good human. I wish her the very best 👍🌹
I'm on the shortlist for Basingstoke!
Thank you so much to all the members, trade unions and groups backing my campaign.
No time to rest – looking forward to speaking to more members. Let's do this! ✨
I took a sunshine filled walk today and a thought crossed my mind, looking at all the familiar places. Hampstead Town has its first
@UKLabour
and
@CoopParty
councillor. What a result. I came exceedingly close to making history alongside him, but NW3 is in safe hands with Adrian.
In
#Rickmansworth
speaking to local residents. No, not just the four legged variety, but the Dog Show at
@CheniesManor
was the highlight of the day! Thanks for taking the time to chat to me about the protection of wildlife and our natural spaces🍃
Out and about in Hampstead village, rounded off by a pint of Hells in the
@FlaskHampstead
. That’s how to run a campaign!
Every vote counts on 7 July:

@CuervoJones5
@dkaleniuk
It’s unbearable. If I could, I’d open my home to these children, clothe and feed them. If they need a UK/ London sponsor (and child services permits it) I’m here! I mean it.
@graceholliday
So crowds can gather to watch a football match, but a heavily pregnant, vulnerable woman must be alone in hospital? Could someone kindly explain the logic of this to me.
Door knocking in South Oxhey with Cllr Stephen Cox and Stephen King, ahead of the local elections. It was good to hear people’s views, and find out what matters most to local residents. If change is what you want, Labour is ready to deliver it 🌹
@southoxheylab
@SWHertsLabour
Had a great evening at the
@LabourWomensNet
gala last week, surrounded by so many talented
@UKLabour
women.
@Keir_Starmer
gave a rousing speech and a call to action: it’s time for change. It’s an honour to be part of it.
#LWNGala2022
I spent time chatting with local business owners on
#Rickmansworth
high street today. They told me how things have changed, and not for the better. Several mentioned how much they missed the old sense of community.
I’m representing both parties because I believe that together we’re stronger. I want to create positive change, through
#cooperation
and
#collaboration
. Above all, I want to live in a society governed by fairness - that everyone can benefit from.

COMING SOON TO A BOROUGH NEAR YOU: THE LOCAL ELECTIONS
Want to do something about gender representation in
#politics
?
Want to ensure
#women
are fairly represented across your local
#community
?
Here’s what you can do (a thread):
#VoteForHer
#LocalElections
@sarahoconnor_
It’s an archaic HR practice that goes against basic common sense: it affects staff retention, performance, erodes creativity and innovation. The net result is simply a toxic work environment, and a false economy (due to hiring costs).
@jo_bartosch
In the old days, we used to call these ‘conditions’ “dates” and they were often held at restaurants. Are there different shades of ‘Grey’ depending on the choice of restaurant? Maybe light Grey for Nando’s and dark Grey for a Michelin-star?
It’s raining cats and dogs… and, uhm, chickens, in
#Hampstead
. If there’s one thing that’s synonymous with NW3, it’s our pet obsession. We do love ‘em. They’re 💯 sustainable, environmentally friendly (as long as you pick up after them!) and create a joyful sense of community.
We are delighted to announce the appointment of five new members to our Board of Trustees!
Refuge chair
@hetnanton
said: “Each brings a wealth of experience and specific expertise and skills that will help us in our work to guide Refuge."
Keeping it in the family. Your prospective Labour councillor for South Hampstead, Tommy Gale, supported by his parents on the campaign trail today.
@ts_gale
will make an excellent councillor for South Hampstead - don’t forget for him vote on 1 June 🗳🌹
@SouthHampLabour
Whatever you may have heard, the choice is clear – it's Labour or five more years of the Conservatives in SW Herts. It's a two horse race, and it’s very close. According to
@YouGov
, we are just inches behind in the polls. Every single vote matters in this election.
Wonderful to catch up with my
@FabianWomen
sisters for the launch of the
#WeBelongHereToo
report. The talent in that room was, as ever, both inspiring and empowering. We definitely do belong. At
#Westminster
“What is unforgivable is leaving your country after a period in government in a worse state than when you found it.”
@Keir_Starmer
Never a truer word spoken! Politicians are there to serve their country and their constituents.
Rishi Sunak is resurrecting the “coalition of chaos” attack line. Okay, so there’s a simple solution to that: vote Labour.
This is certainly not the time for tactical voting. You’re choosing who will lead the country. Choose wisely.
Planning to vote tactically? Local election results are not a good indicator of general election outcome, and last time the Lib Dems trailed behind, a distant 4th. Tactical voting sites are pointing to Labour. Your vote matters - use it to deliver the outcome you actually want.
A young woman I am hosting under the Homes for
#Ukraine
scheme arrives in a couple of weeks. I’m busy trying to secure her a job, but if anyone knows of any good community organisations or other groups to support

in
#Camden
please let me know.
