We welcome the fact that the Modernisation Committee has stated that accessibility must be a priority for the House of Commons. We have argued this point through our research, from our ‘Breaking Down Barriers’ report, to our current work monitoring the number of disabled MPs.

'If we can do it so can you' was @CHazelgroveMP 's message to the young women attending. @KirstySNP summed up “Politics makes decisions that affect your life. You can have it done to you—or you can learn about it and influence it.”

APPG Women in Parliament Co-Chair @mimsdavies wanted young women to know what a great job being an MP is. Confidence is key and the @GEpic_UK programme helps to build this.

Delighted to push for an equal Parliament with @5050Parliament. If we want to ensure our Parliament really serves everyone, we need equal representation. That is why it is vital that parties #AskHerToStand and support more women into politics.

This Parliament may be the most representative Parliament we have ever had, but there is still room for progress. Today is #AskHerToStand Day, encouraging women to get into politics and lead! When leadership comes from every background, our politics becomes stronger, fairer,

She’s a leader. She just might not know it yet... Look around you... Do you know a woman who speaks up, shows up, and steps in when things need fixing? Maybe she’s never thought about politics. But you have thought about her. Tell her it’s time. #AskHerToStand.
