At Wednesday's Full Council, @TH_Labour councillors have a motion on the Regulator's downgrade of Tower Hamlets Council's Housing Directorate and its current performance. We urge Aspire cllrs to accept the direct accountability needed to improve services to tenants + leaseholders

Great to be out campaigning in Wapping today - plenty of warm and engaging conversations on the doorstep. One clear theme coming through is how much residents value having strong @TH_Labour councillors like @AmyL95 and @AbdalUllah standing up for them.

Despite saying she has resigned as a cllr, it seems Aspire's Sabina Khan still hasn't actually done so. Its an outrageous insult to local taxpayers that she has received thousands of pounds in extra allowance to lead scrutiny of LBTH's finances while not even being in the country

London faces a choice: the politics of protest, or the politics of progress. We’re building homes. Others are blocking them. My op-ed in @theLDNstandard on why Lewisham, @mayorofLondon and our Labour government are up for the fight. https://t.co/JBlp1ppEPf

‘Just as Lewisham reached the point of turning years of consultation into meaningful change, Jeremy Corbyn swept into the borough at the eleventh hour’

Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York is more than just a political victory! it’s a testament to the power of the people. When you fight for the people, the people will fight for you. When you win for the people, the people will win you.

Its the reprise of the Old Ford Festival in the Roman Road Ideas Store on Saturday. I'm half way thru Caroline Clark's wonderful 'Tales of Old Ford', chronicling the history of our bit of the East End, with great photos, unexpected facts + funny stories. Well worth popping along

I know many Tower Hamlets residents have missed the legendary Bonfire Night fireworks in Victoria Park in recent years. This much-loved event brought our community together. That is why I am pledging to reinstate the fireworks in Vicky Park if I am elected as Mayor next May.

So impressed by the speeches of my colleagues @MufeedahB @CampaignerAbdi @CllrAsma_Islam in this debate at last Full Council. This kind of political leadership is what is needed to confront the racism + Islamophobia Farage, Jenrick & co. have unleashed and defend social cohesion
At the last meeting of full council we put forward and passed a motion calling for our borough to stand against the far right. Our communities time and time again stand up to show that our borough is #NoPlaceForHate.

Labour’s transformational Renters’ Rights Bill has just received Royal Assent – that means it is now an Act of Parliament and the law. The Act levels decisively the playing field between landlord and tenant and will improve the lives of millions of renters across the country.

I watched the clip a few times, & didn’t want to quote tweet Sarah Pochin’s comments, as I didn’t want to give her disgraceful comments more airtime. I knew that I would also face racist abuse. We have to call out and stand up to the division and hate masked as ‘free speech’.

Sarah Pochin’s comments were a disgrace. And Nigel Farage’s silence is deafening.
