I love that to many (most?) labs, one of the major foci of our lab (actin cytoskeleton) is a “housekeeping gene” used as a loading control. Even better that it varies by 6x over time LOL. Thanks to @PLURplus for letting me share this

Now out as a preprint - the latest work from my PhD @IvaskaLab! Here we investigated how scaffold protein SHANK3 mediates crosstalk between actin, Rap1 GTPase and integrins, and how this is regulated by SHANK3 conformation. 1/2 https://t.co/9738y8fH1X

Our paper showing asymmetric microtubule nucleation from the somatic Golgi in fly da neurons is out in @eLife
https://t.co/Vkr7OTS7iy. We also show a role for Kinesin-2 in directing the growing MT plus ends to help maintain correct MT polarity in the neurites.

Great collaboration with the Silvia Jansen and Anna Kashina groups; Delighted to use Pick-ya actin to investigate isoform pure human beta-actins with 4 types of N_termini. See the beautiful TIRF imaging from the Jansen lab as well.
