Campaigning for a liveable neighbourhood on the residential A4 in/near Chiswick. Where our children live, walk, cycle, study and play - because this is our home

Super excited to have found the new @Breathe_London AQ monitor at Hogarth Rdbt. We’ve had several peaks of 90-100 NO2 here recently (usually after school & in evenings) & at 8am this morning it was almost 50! We’ll continue to pressure for better AQ & need support along the way

So. @LBHF are turning Rivercourt Road in Hammersmith (off the A4 that leads to King Street that crosses the cycle lane) into a private road because: 1) Cars from outside the area use it 2) 9 residents live on the street It couldn’t possibly be because: 1) The @LBofHounslow

And what does this mean, in terms of traffic AND accident stats on the A4? When will ppl care about the roads for A4 residents (we live here with our children!), and the over 100,000 vehicles AND COUNTING that are shoved here every day? @TfL @SadiqKhan @RuthCadbury @RossLydall

A number of things that are not clear, in this scheme made in the name of “safety”: ALL LBHF residents will have access to Rivercourt, BOTH WAYS. So there is conflicting traffic now on BOTH King St AND on A4. What is this roundabout on Rivercourt & A4, & why would people need it?
@LBHF are apparently planning to close off access to the A4 at Rivercourt Road to the general public and fine anyone using it without a permit. Their website states that this is in response to "requests from residents"...but are they being honest about that? (1/8)

New LTN in @LBHF! @StephenCowan kept Rivercourt Rd well under the radar. It will cause huge congestion in Hammersmith. Residents and businesses contact us in S Fulham to understand the impact. Make sure that the whole neighbourhood knows what is happening.

So why hasn’t reduced traffic in Lambeth improved bus speeds? Roadworks? LTN traffic relocation schemes? Ill-thought out cycle lanes? Or a combination of all 3? @MayorofLondon @willnorman @lambeth_council @clairekholland @RezinaChowdhury @LonTravelWatch @SocEnvJustice @LouHaigh
Total mileage driven in Lambeth in 2023 was 458.3 million, down from 473.2m in 2019 (Mileage driven by cars/taxis in 2023 on the same roads was 322.9m compared to 341.7m in 2019) Despite traffic reduction, average bus speeds have remained at 2019 levels (8.1 mph) Discuss

Do you think he honestly believes bus lanes and cycle lanes are "not in competition", even when bus lanes replace cycle lanes and LTNs relocate traffic onto bus routes? These cycling initiatives clearly slow bus journey times and increase air pollution exposure for bus users. 😞
@MalcolmBacchus @visitcamberwell @Cinema4CwellGrn @francesca_kms @TheBHF @BSHeartFailure @Sport_England @Chris_Boardman @activetraveleng @SocEnvJustice @PlaceManagement @justspace7 @LittleNinjaUK @Heart_BMJ That's an argument for more bus lanes, not an argument for fewer bike lanes. They're not in competition – more or less every other European country manages to have both bus and bike infrastructure. It's not rocket science.

Enfield admit to not recording pollution levels on roads outside LTNs …. It’s absolutely shocking @JourneysPlaces of Enfield council have not recorded any pollution levels on boundary roads and other roads who have taken the hit in 4 years. They have made millions of pounds and

This is really welcome news for Chiswick - big thanks to @KeithPrinceAM for proposing this motion and for taking the time to come down to visit the site a few weeks ago!
MOTION AGREED: The Assembly called on the Mayor to instruct TfL to cancel all plans to close off direct access between the Hogarth Roundabout and Church Street. https://t.co/FKjCwFnMXO

The problems with pedestrianising Oxford Street are (a) bus passengers will have further to walk for their bus and (b) alternatives like Wigmore Street are congested compared to free flowing quiet Oxford Street. As just experienced.

Opposition to LTNs just won't go away.....
Our campaign made the news. We have asked Rezina Choudry many times to explain where her figures come from about how this plan makes our roads safer when only only 7% of any sort of accident has happened within the LTN and 93% happening on the overloaded boundaries

In case you care about buses being on time (or let’s say no huge delays or change of route) please sign this petition. This little child shouldn’t have to miss school because the @TfL bus is severely delayed @SadiqKhan @MayorofLondon

@A4Residents @Shansview @Jack_Emsley1 @GabriellaSGG This LTN was massively opposed by residents when ‘consulted’ and imposed on us regardless. LB Hounslow seems determined to make our neighbourhood less liveable.

17 bus routes redirected from Lewisham Centre leaving ppl waiting for phantom buses - the only sign these key bus stops are closed is scribbled on a cardboard box. No directions to temp bus stops. @TfL @LewishamCouncil show total disrespect for bus passengers. @SocEnvJustice

At last some good news for public transport in Chiswick - possibly not too long before we have a step-free tube station?

LTNs attract ASB (anti-social behaviour) and crime. Here by the Dukes Meadows LTN: overgrown bushes all around it, graffiti, broken window glasses. Who dares passing under the rail bridge in the dark? @Shansview @Jack_Emsley1 @GabriellaSGG
