Only 3% of children cycled to school in 2023. There is a lot of work to be done! So it's great to see @LilianGreenwood and @Chris_Boardman working together to help more people walk, wheel and cycle. #CycleToSchoolWeek
This week it was great to catch up with @Chris_Boardman, National Active Travel Commissioner, to talk about how we’ll work together to help more people walk, wheel and cycle. So thrilled to have active travel in my new brief - let’s get moving! 🚶♀️🚴♂️

the author of this piece argues for more cars, but concludes by saying he wants "less congestion". congestion literally is more cars, you can't have both! https://t.co/0HyziCKUHo

I don’t know if this is a good idea, but as democracies struggle with regulation and bureaucracy killing development and growth, innovating like this is great…. If it works it’s fab, if not we should keep trying.
Canada’s new government just released the Housing Design Catalogue. It has 50 standardised housing designs that builders will use to streamline approvals, cut through red tape, and get millions more homes built, faster.

“If you get hit by a car travelling at 50kph, you’ve only got a 1.5-in-10 chance of surviving. If it’s going 30kph you’ve got a nine-in-10 chance” Reducing speed limits to 20mph protects cyclists and doesn’t delay traffic, new research finds https://t.co/dTppqDlqQk

Cycle to School Week is a brilliant reminder of how important it is that we make sure they have safe and accessible routes to school. It's so important we give the next generation of commuters the opportunity to build happier, healthier and greener travel habits.

It's impressive how quickly Paris has transformed car-dominant roads, prioritising more efficient modes of transportation. One lane for drivers on the right side, made to wallow in their own stop-and-start inefficiency, two giant lanes for bikes.

I was one of them :-)
This photo shows 58 cyclists and just two cars. MPs looking out of their window today will see a steady flow of people cycling, some for the first time in a while, given confidence to do so with quality infrastructure. Just over 10 years ago there wasn’t even a cycle lane here.

Pavement parking pushes people into the road and into oncoming traffic. We were on @BBCBerkshire earlier to talk about why we're on a mission to see an end to this dangerous act. If pavement parking is a problem where you live, add it to our map! https://t.co/Ivxqb8zGr3

A huge 81% of trips under one mile are now being walked or wheeled. With the average distance walked at the highest level since records began, at 230 miles per person in 2024. Great to see fantastic walking statistics in today's National Travel Survey. https://t.co/C8sdAYLdsr

Important high court win for @cambscc against pro-traffic campaigners in Cambridge - appeal against Mill Road modal filter dismissed. Some lessons for Conservatives backing more traffic against clear democratic mandates and decisions.
