I think what we need to be asking ourselves is why would a UK government prefer people to be on benefits rather than be in employment. Benefits make no money for the government. Employed workers pay tax so make money for the government. Something is not quite right here

Let’s be clear what scrapping the two child benefit cap would mean. Families earning their own way (with higher taxes coming) have to budget for how many children they have, making difficult choices. Families relying on the state would get to have as many children as they want.
