“Time away lends perspective. Simply carving out a pleasant life doesn’t feel like enough, not when people are really struggling…I’m passionate about the two things that first drove me into politics – a thirst for social justice & a love for Scotland.”

I'd quite like an opposition party in Holyrood that wasn't Westminster's little bitch.

🔥"It's been a s*** show. Beginning to end, it has not gone well." 🎙️ We asked people in Edinburgh, three years after Westminster pulled Scotland out of the European Union against our will, how they think Brexit is going. They didn't hold back.

I’ve played football pretty much every weekend since I was 10. There’s nothing like it. Sport promotes creativity, resilience and the ability to adapt. With Labour every child can study a creative subject or sport. Our mission is to secure opportunity for all.

Andrew Kerr is the BBC Scotland reporter who 'caught up' with Anas Sarwar on the issue of the two child benefit cap when the issue first broke ... and then forgot to ask him about it. He also forgot to bring a camera crew to film the exchange. Now who does that?

Community Safety Minister @Siobhianayr visited the Relationships Scotland centre in Dundee to hear about the vital service child contact centres provide. @scotgov provides funding to @RelScot to support children and families affected by family conflict.

A reminder that no-one ever resigned over the post office/Horizon scandal that prosecuted 100s of innocent people and sent dozens to jail, resulting in divorce, bankruptcy and suicide. But Big Nige has to have his special pen and badge. This is a sick, sick country.
The chief executive of NatWest, Dame Alison Rose, is to step down after row over Nigel Farage bank account

‘No one can understand how she got there.’ ‘It’s not clear what she was doing in Number 10.’ ‘Guilty of a serious dose of cronyism.’ @DavidLammy reacts to 30-year-old Charlotte Owen being put into the House of Lords by Boris Johnson.

This is extremely disappointing. The CCRC response is that we should just wait for elderly, retired, broken, postmasters to instruct lawyers and instigate wrongful conviction appeals themselves. It's unreal. It's also immoral.
The Post Office Horizon scandal is the most widespread miscarriage of justice we've ever seen. On the day we referred the 67th and 68th cases, our Casework Operations Director Amanda Pearce explains why we can't simply refer all such convictions at once. https://t.co/9NNf038Dfo

This is good.
“It really takes something for the Labour party to bury one of biggest successes in its history over ULEZ.” @maitlis and @lewis_goodall on the govt's "lack of planning or collaboration” on green policies. Listen on @GlobalPlayer

Anas Sarwar now finds himself agreeing with the SNP on more issues than he agrees with Keir Starmer on.

Abolish the House of Lords, RT if you want it gone. Tear it down.
Baroness Owen & Lord Kempsell who have less than a decade work experience between them but who now have jobs for life making laws because Boris Johnson said so, have made the case for abolition of the House of Lords clearer than I could

Another massive story in so many ways utterly ignored by @BBCPolitics

Brits escaping genuinely terrifying conditions the only way they can: small boats. And praising the help and humanity they receive as a result. Many will be put up in safe hotels. This is a good and humane thing. https://t.co/L330Ddo8IS
