The Irish gov has released its Electronic Communications Security Measures (ECSMs), effectively a reaction to risks in #5G technologies and networks. Here's a summary of what it does say ....

#Huawei is at it again. They’ve been recruiting more European Parliament policy advisors moving on after the elections. How are there no cooling-off periods for policy advisors moving into lobbying for corporations from the EU institutions?

China directing the elected members of a sovereign nation on how to exercise their foreign policy. The scary thing is that in some countries this works. And certainly in some private sectors and in the higher education sector globally.

Another own goal for Chinese diplomacy, this time in Brazil. The Chinese embassy there sent a letter telling members of parliament not to congratulate Tsai Ing-wen on her recent inauguration. It was leaked, spawning the #VivaTaiwan hashtag now trending.

Correct. Paul is an advocate for nothing that can be described as neutral in the modern sense - the only sense that matters. He wants us defenceless, with no deterrent. Suppose its necessary for the socialist revolution. Or something.

Why does the media constantly refer to @paulmurphy_TD to advocate for neutrality to counter moderate points made on Irish security policy? It's akin to having a debate on mixed sex education and including the Taliban for balance. We need expertise, not extremism.

Maybe everyone else can see past this, and that's fine, but it's a point of principle for me - the president should remember he speaks on behalf of us all and draw a line between his political beliefs where they allow him to make victims invisible. #Aras18

A full investigation needs to happen about whether Bank of Ireland’s IT system meets its requirements under CER (etc). We also need transparency around whether this was incompetence, simple human error or a cyber attack. Also BOI needs to pay the State for Garda hours to

Following the outage yesterday, the App and 3650nline are back working again. Overnight payments to accounts may appear throughout the day. We sincerely apologise for the disruption this outage caused - we know it fell far below the standards our customers expect from us.

For those making snide comments about who’d spy on him, his portfolio covers areas the CCP want as much intel as possible both at Ireland and EU level. Your parochial narrow minded views are part of the problem. Mind you the CCP has more useful idiots inside Leinster House

Eamon Ryan and his officials travelling to China for St Patrick’s Day have been issued with “burner phones“ and have been ordered to leave devices used for state business at home due to concerns about surveillance by the Chinese state.
