But Bekri no longer has Turkish papers, just a Chinese passport, so the immigration office decided to deport her to China. This was done despite contrary guidance - Germany has issued guidance against deporting Uyghurs back to China. Local officials ignored this guidance.

Incredible story: Germany sends Uyghur asylum seeker back to China - but she doesn't get arrested, likely because the Chinese didn't know she was coming. Her daughter then quickly buys her a ticket to Istanbul, and she was able to get out. Detailed SPIEGEL report link below.
