Elfashir has fallen to RSF. As expected, mass killings taking place since last night. As we all warned, RSF is committing another campaign of ethnic cleansing. And not just in Elfashir, RSF attacks & massacres reported in North Kordofan. #KeepEyesOnSudan

If foreign commentators are gping to comment on Irish politics, it would be helpful if they spent 30 seconds on wikipedia to learn the Irish President has no executive power and is largely ceremonial - considerably less powerful than the German or Finnish Presidents.

Having a leadership heave before Finance Bill is passed would be politically reckless. Just over 4 years to go before next GE (3.5 to LE/Euro). Potentially collasping Government and triggering an unnecessary election wouldn't work out well for rebels.
Opponents of the Taoiseach within Fianna Fáil Parliamentary Party dubious review into aborted Presidential election campaign will be completed within deadline of next 2 weeks They say it will be delayed to ensure ‘Michael will get beyond Christmas’

The Gardai deserve tremendous credit for how the handled and defused the Citywest riots. A number of officers were injured holding the line. The narrative spread by the far-right & their more acceptable "conservative" allies has been debunked. Worth noting who excused the rioting

There are so many of these creatures emerging. A lot of them are Economists. The whole purpose seem to be undermine the EU and the international liberal order.
The center of the EU has already collapsed into criminality ala Moscow in the 1990s. I don’t think most Westerners are ready to wake up to how extensive the coming unravelling will be - or how fast it will happen. See you on the other side. 🫡

Leaving the EU would be worth it to protect absolute Irish neutrality?

You don't believe that those who commit acts of violence against Gardai are capable of burning the flag of the state that those Officers are sworn to protect?
It is hard to imagine that any of those genuinely protesting at #Citywest against dangerous government policy would throw our Tricolour into a Garda vehicle and set it alight. So who did?

People from abroad commenting on Irish politics, without knowing anything about Irish politics. Ireland is a Parliamentary Republic with a ceremonial President. 3 out of last 4 elected Presidents have been Left Wing. Government is Centrist. Nothing has materially changed.

🐢 Five young loggerhead turtles rescued on Irish beaches were released back into the wild this week by the crew of LÉ Samuel Beckett. The ship was on MDSO patrolling Ireland EEZ & was able to support this worthy conservation tasking. 🌊🇮🇪 #MarineConservation

This is a great film. Not perfect, which is actually the point, but of its time and so tense and frighteningly plausible and realistic. Scariest film to watch this Halloween. Some poor audience reviews are from people who don't get nuance and gorge on gratuitous nonsense.
Excited to have played a role in the success of today’s #1 movie on @Netflix! If you haven’t yet, go watch it now, and see why it’s #1 ! @house_dynamite

So what proportion of Irish people believe exiting the EU would be worth it to protect absolute neutrality?

Only way to absolutely secure Irish neutrality would be to leave the EU. It would also require us to effectively disconnect from the global economy. The Irish left mightn't like it - but we're part of the Western world and thus not considered neutral by its adversaries.
