Every MAGA I have spoken with is ultimately motivated by some kind of bigotry. That's what it always boils down to. They may talk about the economy, foreign policy, etc, but its really fear and hate that draws them into the cult.

Letting kids know that they are loved and supported, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, saves lives.

Our current SCOTUS has vocalized a desire to revisit the case that made marriage equality the law of the land, similarly to how Roe v Wade was overturned. Codifying marriage equality protects this right for LGBTQ people.

My parents reacted similarly when I came out as gay. They were too self-absorbed to realize how hard that was for me. They were only concerned about how it impacted them. It is soul crushing when you find out the people who are supposed to love you unconditionally, really don't.
