Voters the Liberal Party needs to win over have never raised this with us. Not once. Not in focus groups, not in open ended surveys, not in community meetings. It just doesn’t come up. And that’s the problem. The Liberal Party is in deep trouble because it keeps searching for

Incredibly, you need to consult and jump through bureaucratic hoops for just one cycling storage unit, but not on this type of thing. This car has not moved for 15 years @hackneycouncil

Houston sees ~23 pedestrians killed for every fire death. Auto deaths are 36 to 1. In return for slightly faster response times Houston has a pedestrian death rate 7x that of Paris and auto deaths of over 10x. Speed of response is a sacrificial altar.

Jason,

Remember life safety is measured by speed of response, not the actual number of injuries or deaths you’re responding to. A 5 minute response to a dead pedestrian is superior to a 7 minute response to a minor injury. That’s life safety. PS - the actual response time in Houston

On-street parking is a 21st-century blight, a shocking waste of public space, for which no one was ever consulted.

The math of modern transit: An Uber blocks a bus with 40 people for 5 minutes to pick up 1 passenger. (Plus the line of cars behind that) That's 200+ minutes of collective time wasted for one person's convenience. This is the entitled, inefficient system we've chosen. @grok

Can ultrasound make you smell things that aren’t there? Turns out, yes! We reliably triggered distinct scents like a campfire burn or a garbage truck by targeting our brains with ultrasound. To our knowledge, this has never been done before, even in animals. This may be a

Some cities are actively pursuing growth. Others are stuck in a state of managed decline, merely cutting costs for loud existing homeowners while doing nothing to build for the future. I'm increasingly worried that Wellington is irrevocably stuck in the second category.

The single biggest problem with most American cities is that they prioritize the convenience of people going to or passing through the city over the mobility, health, safety and lives of the people living in the city. It’s nice to see a real New Yorker be mayor.

As we head into summer, remember to keep combustion vehicles away from dry grass as they have a tendency to do this.🔥 This happened in NZ and 28 vehicles were damaged.

By viewing homelessness as a public relations, and not a public policy, challenge; by treating human beings in crisis as eyesores to be hidden away, and not neighbours to be helped out, this Government projects a vision of NZ I do not recognise and will not accept. Shame on them.

What will Sussan Ley do? Drop net zero to appease the Nats and never win another election, or keep it, blow up the Coalition, and still never win another election? A true choose-your-own-failure adventure.

The fact that people are allowed to store their cars in the street is really weird - after all, a car is an individual's own private property and their responsibility. I can't think of a single other item you can store in public in this way.
