China built 93 GW of solar in May, bringing its 2025 total to 198GW. That’s more than 1.3GW per day, every day. With enough BESS, that’s also more than Canada or France’s entire installed power capacity from everything - and their electricity generation.

Poland (yes, Poland, with 60% less sunny days than countries closer to the Equator) generated more electricity from renewables than from coal for the 1st time ever in June. Every country can do it, and will do it .

Heat domes tripled in strength and duration since 1950s - as June temperatures reach dangerous highs in the US and Europe, while persistent low pressure systems saw China, Pakistan and India hit by floods. "Typical” summer weather is a thing of the past.

China is ditching oil because it is an existential national security issue: It is vulnerable to oil embargos, direct or indirect, because oil embargo = it could collapse. China therefore will continue to deploy insane record-amounts of solar, wind and storage, year after year.

"This idea of a persistent #climate imprint on real estate marks a shift in thinking about the relatively new concept of climate-fuelled financial instability. This is the story that may matter most, if only because it is so hard to see how it finishes".
