@lyndonbajohnson @NoahMF would you guys agree, or would you add or remove parts of this even being generous?

Being as generous as I can, this is the closest equivalent to NYC's "Commie Corridor" I can think of for Houston, and, forget corridor, is a small group of precincts. Consists of 95k people (out of Houston's 2.3 Million people), and altho prog, definitely less so than NYC's CC.

Kind of a general dynamic in both the older Houston and Dallas suburbs is that you have a map that looks more purple-ish because the new generation of homeowners are way less white, but the Republican Primary is nuts because the whites who are still there are bonkers. -OS

No legislative district in New Jersey swung more towards Trump than LD-35, previously represented by now Congresswoman @RepNellie . Democrats had an enormous bounce back here this year, eclipsing even Biden 2020!

The 2025 NYC Mayoral election, a contest between Socialist NY Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, Former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, and Guardian Angels founder Curtis Sliwa resulted in a 9% victory for Mamdani, becoming the third Socialist, and Second DSA NYC mayor in the city's history.

He did lose this seat in the primary by 0.10 points in the primary, and won it in the general by 1 point. Think heβs damaged goods to anyone whoβd want someone like him though. Then again, field will be heavily splintered, so maybe?
Intel from Somos: Andrew Cuomo is now exploring a campaign for retiring Rep. Jerry Nadlerβs Manhattan House seat, according to two people familiar with the matter.

Pretty expected. Allred just has no charisma while Talarico has some. Maybe Allred should switch to Gov if he still wants to run statewide, because I feel like he will not win this primary against Talarico.
NEW: Talarico leads Allred by 6 points, 48% to 42%, despite facing a 28 point name ID deficit. Without going up on air, Talarico was still able to surge 36 points in just 2 months, a feat attributable to a massive earned and social media presence. #TXSEN

This could be a winnable race for Democrats as long as they don't nominate Jasmine Crockett
NEW: #TXSEN poll (from a pro-Hunt group so caveats apply) shows Hunt closing in on Cornyn for 2nd place PAXTON - 34% CORNYN - 27% HUNT - 26% Paxton leads 46%-38% in head-to-head w Cornyn Poll of 811 LVs by Stratus Intelligence from Nov 4-6. MoE +/-3.5%

I saw the Washington Post editorial on redistricting today and this is my official response.

And there's no off-ramp because the Senate is probably ready to cave to Democrats on Obamacare, but Johnson isn't bringing the House back into session when all the Democrats and probably enough Republicans want the Epstein files.
Airline travel will basically be untenable by Thanksgiving, and the whole of air traffic will have to basically be cut down to international and hub-to-hub by Christmas. And there's no off-ramp to this shutdown in sight. It's going to be a political bloodbath. -OS

Uhhh this is straight up in the "worth watching" territory, especially as it was the more moderate R that lost
Tarrant just dropped the remainder of its Eday, and it was a great batch for Dems, narrowing down SD-09 to just R+4.8 (Was Trump+17.1 in 2024) Taylor Rehment (Dem) and Leigh Wambsganss (Rep) will advance to a runoff, probably sometime in December.

There was an uncontested House of Delegates race in Senate District 4, but even looking at VA Lt Gov data (which matches House of Delegates more than Gov or AttGen), a Dem likely would've won there as well.

Using 2025 VA House of Delegates data on the VA Senate Map, Dems could've gained 5 seats in the VA Senate, going from 21/40 seats to 26/40 seats if the Senate was up in Virginia this year Among the Blue here, Rs hold Districts 4,12,17,24, and 27

Craziest thing in Minneapolis has to have been Af-Ams not voting for Fateh because he's Somali. Crazy new levels of racedep (racepol?) at work
The 13 precincts in North Minneapolis where the majority of Black working class people live voted for Jacob Frey. ALL 13 precincts he won. I want to make it clear to people who say Jacob Frey didnt win working class or Black votes. We showed up and Jacob won.

The Georgia PSC elections that happened technically have districts, but they run statewide, because, reasons. Here are the PSC districts though, on paper, that they're supposed to represent. Maybe a legacy from when GA was a solid red state to prevent Dems, idk. 2024 Prez Shading

One of the results from Tuesday night that stuck out to me was in Luzerne County, PA. Former County Councilmember Tim McGinley (D) defeated incumbent County Controller Walter Griffith (R) one year after Trump won the county by 19%.
