If certain crimes waive your right to an attorney, fair trial, and the presumption of innocence, it incentivizes the state and the powerful to use those crimes as a weapon against the marginalized. You’re arguing for the kind of system that got Emmett Till murdered.
Realizing that a lot of leftists who are otherwise aware of abuses inherent in the criminal justice system don't look beyond how it affects the accused--a rapist may be entitled to representation, but that defense attorney still has rape apologia as part of their job description.
