We should also remember GPT-4 is a language model not maths model, so it's better to not expect too much maths from it. For maths models other architecture needs to be invented, optimising transformer models for maths won't work.

data,transformer architecture learns to predict output instead of calculating it. Maths works on calculation principles not prediction. So transformer architecture has fundamental limitations to do maths calculations.
