Rigorous research that informs public discourse and state policy is a public good. Very well. But that is only true in a democracy. The increasing attacks on

It is just shocking that this was done, and done so brazenly. It was immediately clear that it was your story that was portrayed. This should definitely be illegal.
‘It resembles a gender sexuality 101 course from the kind of college where young elites pay lakhs to learn how to say “that’s problematic” before they leave for “grad school” from where they return with that American-global accent,’ which would make them ideal for casting in MiH.

From the Ken newsletter: ‘Pathaan doesn’t have a brilliant story or any nuance, but it has joy, love, and charm. It reminds you what the joy of watching a Bollywood movie used to be.‘
Watched a punjabi indie film at the Habitat Film Festival - a spectacularly naked portrayal of the Punjabi hinterland and crisis of injured masculinity. With the perpetually absent

'The court needs to spend its limited political capital wisely, defending not only LGBTQI persons but also religious minorities, political opposition, ideological dissidents, and other groups facing the wrath of the ruling dispensation.'
With
@Rahul400
& Aishwarya Singh , I chart a feasible path forward the SC could adopt (wrt Special Marriage Act) to incrementally guarantee equal access to marriage in India, while managing the likelihood of manufactured backlash:
Today, I went to Fitso’s swimming pool in sector two, RK Puram, Delhi. They flatly refused to let me access the pool,as a blind person. They said that they will not allow my helper to guide me. Nor will they provide anyone from their team to guide me. They will refund my money.
The most efficient Indian solution to any genuine grievance like horribly delayed flight is free coffee and idli sambar. So effective - now the mob stands in a straight line at the food corner.
When you need to enter Parliament in a wheelchair, there’s only one entrance with a ramp, at door 9, a good four minute trip (with the assistance of helpers) to the Lok Sabha. This temporary disability has taught me how poorly equipped we are to support people with disabilities

The heavy handed attacks will and should not sully the stellar record of non-partisan public service that
@CPR_India
has rendered for decades. Personally speaking - I would not let my experience at CPR be defined by the IT Raids or these inane conspiracies.
Kind people of Delhi, I am looking to rent a spacious and furnished 2 BHK in Lajpat, East of Kailash, GK, Jangpura, Jangpura Extn or Ashram. Please text with any leads 🙏🏿

Hi!
I've argued that the law can include transgender persons using interpretation provisions like the General Clauses Act. Additionally, for extension of special provisions u. art. 15 for women to transgender persons and for legislation to address their unique disadvantages.
Huge congrats to this stellar fellow! May you reach ever greater heights.
Sad seeing people pulling him down. Having studied law with him, can only attest to his brilliance. But if he were bogged down by any of this, he’d have left all of it a long time ago! All strength to you!
'It is hard to escape the impression that the court advocates one set of stringent conditions for reservation for ‘them’ but is happy to adopt an entirely different yardstick for reservation for ‘people like us’.'

TDP or JD(U) should claim Speaker post, and then collude with some BJP leader to split the party. Recognise the split as real BJP and disqualify all else.
My friends are looking for a chill flatmate to move in to a pre-occupied 3 BHK in C Block, South Ex - II. The rent for the room is 23k/month. It's the master bedroom and comes with built in woodwork for storage, a bed, an attached washroom and a balcony.

In every constituency that I (randomly) checked, there is a difference between total votes cast on

and total votes counted, sometimes to the tune of thousands. Highlighting just a few cases below.
Why should there be any difference? 1/n
Kudos to Tamil Nadu State Medical Council for notifying so-called Conversion Therapy of LGBTQ+ persons as 'professional misconduct'.
This is the first but significant step towards eradicating conversion practices which are performed by medical professionals.

It would forever represent the atmosphere of fellowship, erudition and compassion that the people at CPR have created. I am sure others elect to prioritise CPR’s record over the inane media frenzy.

's oped on WRB, I discovered this excellent article on political competition over reserved seats for women. Highly recc reading:
AQI in Central Delhi is currently 600.
It should ideally be below 100. Above 500, most agencies stop counting because "maximum damage is done so there is no point going beyond that."
What is going on?!
Public mobilization not possible as public opinion is dominated by majoritarian sensibilities. Does this mean, moments come when democracies present dead ends for countermajoritarian ideas?
In Dec 2021, reported on UP’s draconian crackdown on interfaith marriages. In Mau, an entire Muslim family of a man was randomly jailed on the complaint of the Hindu family of adult woman who’d *chosen* to elope. Sitapur’s murders didn’t emerge in a vacuum

Education is vital. Self control on Population growth will follow. Please read up about sterilization during emergency and don't propound such ideas without reading the consequences of such acts.
Justice Kaul stated emphatically that we need an anti-discrimination law to address intersectionality and discrimination by private sector - amazing news for pushing an Equality law -

So so proud of this report! We’ve filed a gazillion RTIs, visited almost all the ACP offices in Delhi (

even went to the one in Najafgarh :P), spent a dozen sleepless nights. The findings, if I may say so myself, are startling! Please read/share❤️
After 4 years of being in Law School, facing multiple occasions of mine and others' disability not even being recognized in lieu of "equal treatment" by the college, it feels ecstatic to finally have an official logo for the NLS Diversable Alliance/Disability Support Group!
Watched Kohrra on Netflix - perhaps the best series I have watched in very long time. Don’t get misled by the crime thriller - it is just the percussive background to the pasoori that ‘family’ creates in our lives and our loves. 1/2
Spent 5 yrs in law school arguing against the selective empathy of ppl on a shared univ campus towards dogs vs those who were scared of/attacked by dogs. Love movies where they show villains loving animals: reinforcing that kindness to animals ≠ necessarily kindness in general.
Halfway through Anna Funder's genre-bending book on George Orwell's quietly systematic erasure of his wife, Eileen. Quite a thought-provoking hybrid of biography, feminist polemic & literary criticism. Must read more of Funder's work.
