@aviralbhat Actually those are all legitimate motivations. I started Viaweb very explicitly to make money, and that worked out well enough.

I have a working theory about friendship, cofounders, partners, basically anyone you want to build something meaningful with. I call it the theory of abundance. Not money-abundance. Energy-abundance. Attention-abundance. Emotional-abundance. People who move through the world

A 10% monthly churn rate at $2.6M ARR means you're losing $260K annually for no reason. We cut ours to 4.8% as a bootstrapped company... the moves that dropped it: 🧵

Introducing the Parallel FindAll API. Create an entire dataset with a single search query. For example: "Find all dental practices in Ohio with a 4+ star review on Google" https://t.co/FvPANt7WUI

Marketing is a creative and adversarial game. Channels get discovered, exploited, and discarded. New products need new distribution. It’s hard to hire rule-breakers, so the best marketers tend to be the founders themselves.

CEO of scaled VC backed co. recently said if he just wanted to get rich he’d raise as little as possible, find early signs of PMF in a niche and sell to the leading VC backed company in that niche. They’re paying top dollar for this profile in their niche w/ very few options.

i’d say the opposite: the real white space is at the application layer. everyone wants to sell shovels, but the gold is in how people actually use them. the infra race is a knife fight between hyperscalers: openai, google, anthropic, meta, amazon. they’ll undercut each other
My AI investment thesis is that every AI application startup is likely to be crushed by rapid expansion of the foundational model providers. App functionality will be added to the foundational models' offerings, because the big players aren't slow incumbents (it is wrong to

eventually all of this therapy money will flow to ai. in some ways with therapy ppl are basically renting empathy. $200/hr for someone to remember context, mirror affect, & maybe give structured feedback. that’s a system problem, not a human one. ai can do that at infinite
pretty nuts how much of people’s disposable income is going to therapists. they’re like $200 an hour and some people go once a week. that’s a whole rental in a cheaper city

Hi, notes from a guy who was raised by a very successful father, and grew up around friends with very successful fathers: 1. Its true, life with money can be boring. Although my father never bought us anything but economy (he insisted we buy luxury with our own money— more on
my take is life with generational wealth can be incredibly luxurious but also equally boring. the beauty of life is to keep upgrading linearly. your goals. your lifestyle. your desires. it’s a game. but when you have it all from day 1, nothing really excites you. you’ve

In 5 years from now, probably 95% of the tokens used by AI agents will be used on tasks that humans never did before. I just met with about 30 enterprises across 2 days and a dinner, and some of the most interesting use-cases that keep coming up for AI agents are on bringing

Suddenly, you're 27. You make your coffee, rush to work, come home around 7, and you're too tired to do anything except eat, scroll on your phone, and pass out. Then you wake up, and do it all again. And when Friday comes, maybe you go out, or maybe you're just too tired.

Hilarious. The social contract is broken and people are done playing by the rules.
It's funny to think about all the ways our high trust society can be manipulated for personal gain if everyone simultaneously decides to stop playing by the implicit social rules. Eg: take out a bunch of credit card debt and never pay it back. What are they going to do? Sue 15

A mentor once told me: "Discipline is simply the act of remembering who you said you wanted to be and then acting like it." The question isn't "Can you do it?" It's "Are you willing to live like the person you claim you want to become?" If the answer is yes, anything is possible.
