A lot of punk bands at that time had nailed the sound but The Adverts were the first to try to take lyrics somewhat seriously imo. I wouldn't call their lyrics super profound or deep but still lightyears ahead of most contemporary punk bands.

Whats funny about comments like this, is that if they've exhausted their abilities for successful school- or student-based interventions, and their next idea is to focus on a genetic-based IQ PGS, then you've completely lost the point.
I suppose one could start by looking at value-added models to see what percent of variation of educational outcomes is due to schools. (Versus things like individual differences.). One could also look to see if there have ever been any large scale educational interventions and.
