One of my all-time favourites. Stare at the red dot on the woman's nose for 30 seconds, then look at an empty wall while blinking quickly. Promise it's worth it... https://t.co/jsmr9VtTjj

I wish for all people who identify as helpers the skill of tolerating others’ discomfort and disappointment, so that we know we are helping because we want to, and not because the consequences of any other choice are intolerable.

The vocabulary we have around burn out is insufficient. It's often framed as too much work (which is definitely one factor), but I see it also stem from misalignment in terms of strategy or values, lack of recognition, and/or sense of belonging.

Many books and articles on data visualizations state that every visual element must have a functional purpose — anything beyond that is too flashy and unnecessary. I disagree. Today, we launched Live View and it's pure delight! https://t.co/JqDVsL6pea

Something I’ve noticed is that when someone asks a question, people will often assume the asker doesn’t have an answer of their own. Asking questions doesn’t necessarily mean a lack of knowledge. It reveals to me how often we think of answers as facts rather than opinions.

The Wisdom of Trauma will be rebroadcast at the end of this month, as will the "Talks On Trauma" series. Over 4 million people worldwide have watched this film so far, which speaks to the deep hunger for a trauma-informed revolution in our thinking. https://t.co/3ZjOE7vihC

Brilliant walkthrough from @Shopify's @krystalcampioni on how to build beautiful visualizations with React. Krystal worked on our BFCM Live View, where we tested a lot of new patterns!
For the folks who attended my talk on Data Viz with React, React-Spring and D3 today @LaraconEU Here are the slides:
